Excellent view, excellent amenities. Since there are so few rooms every room has a beautiful view of the coast. Every morning we spent watching the sunrise. Very nice room. On point room service. Very helpful front desk associates. Can't express enough the pleasure to our stay.

travelling with my godfather and his partner, we drove around Port Chalmers exploring the cool 2nd hand stores and asked where was a good place to stay and St Clair was highly recommended - so off we went and found this gorgeous hotel with spectacular sea views, even tho they were full and we weren't guaranteed sea views, our rooms... We went to see Dunedin’s Otago Peninsula and its penguin colonies. We had ourselves booked for three nights at Hotel St. Clair. It was an excellent 3-star hotel by the beach. The hotel’s architecture, stylish design and the coastal views were just stunning. We had the premier studio suite which had a super huge bed and a magnificent bathroom. The... More

We have stayed here twice and the rooms both times have been very clean and quiet with everything you need for a short stay. Both times the rooms have been $135 and stated to us as having only a partial sea view but both rooms have had wonderful views of the sea and hillside from the balcony and seating area... More

Brilliantly located right next to the beach. Much better than staying in the city centre. Parking was free and easy. The restaurant breakfast was really good. Only issue was the wifi was terrible and they had no phone in the unit to check if there was a problem with it. When I asked the next day they said they were... More

By far the best accommo in dunedin that I've tried... Even though the underground parking was a pain, the rooms definitely made up for it... Perfect bed, perfect shower... Oh and having Discovery Channel was a major plus

Booked direct on the website for a weekend room price which was better than a motel. Immaculate and very spacious studio room, very tasteful furnishings, nice lounge area, comfy large soft bed, good heating, stunning bathroom with a nice deep bath and delightful views from the balcony and a nice array of quality drink sachets and toiletries. Has a microwave... More

We had a studio, and it was huge. Very luxurious, the bathroom was gorgeous and has many free toiletries. I wouldn't have described it as having a 'kitchenette' but the tea & coffee facilities were good, little use for the plates and cutlery when there's nothing to cook with. No free wifi!! Only an Ethernet cable - most people have... More

It may seems at first test the hotel us located a bit far out from the city centre, but it is deceptively close. And you must request a room overlooking the beach. The rooms are a good size with a small kitchenette and lounge. The bed is large but my complaint was it is way too soft for my liking.... More
