We stayed here several times when the complex was first built and it was very tidy and well run by a couple who'd been in motels for many years. Everything was excellent. We stayed again last weekend after a 3 year absence. Rooms are the same it is just that the place is not being maintained. There is moss and... More

In most respects it was a typical good quality hotel room, perhaps not 'luxury' (as the sign outside says) by current standards. But if everything had worked it would have been fine. The unit even had a washing machine and dryer which would be very useful for multiple night stays. First issue was TV channels. It was very hard to... More

Very clean and tidy unit with plenty of room and very reasonably priced. There was a kitchen and washing machine and drier in the unit. There is a very nice Indian restaurant across the road as well as a supermarket around the corner.Would certainly stay again.

I stay here regularly for business. Clean and tidy. Comfortable rooms with good facilities. Good location. If you like a pint of Guinness I Highly recommend popping over the road to Bailey Irish bar about 1 minute walk. Highly recommend this motel.

We arrived late and left early so i cant comment on location and surroundings but i can say that the room was clean, roomy and comfortable and we really appreciated being able to put a load of washing through after 2 weeks on the road! They even supplied washing powder which was a nice touch. Well priced accomodation and good... More

Stayed on our first night in NZ and was surprised with the excellent quality of the motel. Check in fast and easy and the room was spotlessly clean. Our room contained 3 single beds all with electric blankets, huge TV, well set up kitchen and the bathroom was lovely and clean with a washing machine and dryer. We stayed in... More

We stayed one night at the end of our trip to the south island and really appreciated the quality of this motel. A large room, comfortable beds, kitchen facilities, and above all, the washer and dryer which really came in handy. The TV was enormous. It's a very short walk to a selection of restaurants (we got delicious Thai takeaway... More

Very friendly and accommodating staff who went out of their way to assist when ever possible especailly given that they were not born and bred in Christchurch. The room was prepared as had been ordered and was spotlessly clean. We really apreciated having our own facilities including a washing machine etc. With both a petrol station and supermarket opposite it... More

I don't know what else you could possibly want from a motel. For the price, this place was perfect. Our room was spotless, large, and had comfy beds. The TV was huge and the kitchen had everything we needed. The washer and dryer even had a free laundry detergent packet placed next to it! Our room was obviously prepared with... More

Azena is a good value. The rooms are good-sized and include a kitchenette and free laundry. I was most impressed by how accommodating the owner was to us. We arrived in Chch early in the morning. We arrived at the Azena about 10:30 a.m. never expecting our room to be ready, but she made it happen. We were ready for... More
