I booked this hotel for my trip to Christchurch. It's relatively unscathed although Christchurch was devastated by the recent quake. There is a small kitchenette with an electric hotplate and cooking utensils that enables us with ease of cooking and a grocery store nearby. We were booked in a room entitled a 'suite' but it's far from being a regular... More

Our room No 6 was downstairs and as soon as we opened the door we smelt dampness as though a drain was leaking for a long time. The bathroom needs renovating, the corners were dirty. The bed was uncomfortable but the laundry was clean and plentiful. My relations stayed upstairs and their room was bright and airy. We stayed here... More

Overall a great hotel (about 15 min walk from CBD) but could use a few tiny tweaks to make it even better. We had a cute little studio for 3 nights. It was well worth the price (much cheaper than in Australia) & we were surprised by the little touches, like a jug of milk in the fridge (re-fills cost... More

We had room #7 when we arrived. We walked in and were handed a key to the room. When we opened the room, it had a really bold mold and mildew scent. It was "one of those" motels that I didn't feel comfortable walking around the room without my shoes on. The room was appeared clean, with the exceptional stains... More

We were upgraded to one bedroom suite prior to arrival, and the owners and staff were consistently helpful, friendly, and efficient. Extras included free newspaper delivered daily, well equipped kitchen which included a new pack of ground coffee everyday! the location was quiet, and free laundry was a great added bonus. Will definitely use again at our next stay. We... More

We were booked into this motel for Easter. On arrival we were given a run down studio apartment with a grotty looking bathroom, rusted microwave and a jug of milk in the fridge that could have been there for days!!! We told the owner we were not happy - he showed me two larger rooms which he wanted $170.00 for... More

I stayed there for a few nights while I was in Christchurch. It has parking which is very convenient and is reasonably close to the airport (important since I had flow 24 hours and usually drive on the other side of the road). It was very walkable into downtown Christchurch and had a few cafes and restaurants nearby. The rooms... More

We have stayed at numerous hotels and motels, but never before have written a bad review, or had anything stolen. We politely reported an expensive aftershave stolen from our locked room, and we were made to feel like we were making it up or had mislaid it. The managers just looked at us blankly, and the cleaner made us feel... More

Proprietor may not intend to, but comes across as rude, belittling and dismissive. Parking good, simple location to find. Room had dated but wholly functional decor and fittings. Primary issue was the lingering smell. Room in general was musty but the bathroom had a deeper stench of body odour and drains. Unlimited wifi welcomed.

The devastation in Christchurch makes getting accommodation in the CBD almost impossible. This great little place is just outside the main CBD area, but certainly within walking distance. The room was clean and well maintained. It included fridge, kitchen sink and a hotplate cooktop. This was a great option at a reasonable price. Though the state if Christchurch city at... More
