I considered my stay at IBIS in Christchurch to be exactly what you would expect to receive when staying in a reasonably priced hotel in the city. It was clean and comfortable. I would recommend it to others.

Great place to stay, food is great, rooms are good, bed is comfortable the only downside is a very small bathroom. Value for money. The hotel is a 3 minute walk to yhe Chalice and the damaged Christchuch Cathederal. A 5 minute walk to the tram system. We will stay here again on our next trip.

This is a very good hotel in the centre of Christchurch. Helpful staff and good food. The only drawback with staying in Christchurch is the aftermath of the earthquakes. It is a very sad city and at night it is just dead as most of the bars, restaurants etc. which used to attract people to the centre were destroyed. However,... More

I always like to stay at Ibis, as the rooms are nice and the service is good. The price is also not too step. This will always be my hotel of choice. Keep up the good work. The location is in the center of it all also.

Right opposite a big rebuilding works, notice from building sites were negligible, staff were very friendly, very clean and comfortable. Room temp are kept at level which is comfortable and maintained

stayed here for a weekend visit to New Zealand to visit family on a budget. was great to find a room with two double beds so mum and I didn't have to share. positives were the friendly 24 hour reception, comfortable beds, great room service, central location and yummy buffet breakfast in the restaurant. negatives were the lack of view... This hotel is central in the city. At the time of writing this it is in a construction zone as Christchurch rebuilds post quake. Our stay compared to seven years ago when Hereford St was part of a bustling CBD was quite different. It is a good option for a budget conscious traveller who wants a hotel rather than a... More

The Ibis is a study in blandness. No mini bar in the room is a bad start. But then to be told by the 'bartender' that "we don't serve drinks at this hour" (9:30am) has quite confirmed my resolve to never stay at this hotel again. Disgraceful failure of hospitality.

Dear jfrogthevirus, Thank you for your review. I apologise that we didn't serve you an alcoholic drink in the morning as our liquor licence does allow for this. I have reitereated to all staff of this fact so that future guests will receive a better response should they ask. We do hope that you enjoyed your visit to Christchurch. Regards More

I booked this hotel in order (i) to be central and (ii) because I needed 24 hour reception due to a flight arriving at midnight. The Ibis fits both bills and I thought the price I paid was pretty reasonable. I found all the staff friendly throughout my four night stay and was pleased to get a room on the... More

Once situated in a fantastic location ,Ibis is now situated in the centre of a war zone, empty buildings, empty city centre and rife with tagging. There is little reason to stay here now. The hotel is lacking good customer service. The rooms are tiny and the bathrooms miniscule. The shower pressure was fine however the shower head sprayed against... More

Dear Keywibouy, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback from your stay over the ANZAC weekend. We are saddened your stay did not meet expectations and a little confused by this as you emailed our Sales Manager on the 6th May to thank us and commented how you enjoyed the stay. In this email you also thanked us... More
