We have a great 2 nights staying here. Friendly manager and also a very cute Kara! (hope that i spell correctly!) Too bad that we forgot to take a photo with Bruce... We like the atmosphere here...relax, cozy and the hotel design looks quite France. We order 4 rooms during our staying and we like here very much. It is... More

This is a fantastic little hotel - in a beautiful setting by a beach, peaceful, characterful, comfortable and lovely hosts. Such a relief to arrive there after a long journey from London. Delicious home made croissants too! I would highly recommend it.

Unfortunately we just had one evening to spend at Le Petit Hotel. We really enjoyed our stay in a clean and tastefully decorated room with sea views. The highlight was breakfast and briefly chatting with the lovely host over the home-cooked croissant.

Some of us are gluten free by necessity and not choice so to see a hotel with gluten free options for a continental breakfast was exciting. But the excitement went away when I was offered gluten free weetbix while my partner had a lovely muesli and then i proceeded to sit and watch him being served a lovely hot croissant... More

Dear Jocelyn, Many thanks for your review. Clearly there was a misunderstanding for as the manager I personally take good care of Gluten sensitive or intolerant guests. Our Gluten free Weetbix go out every morning because we now find that many guests just like the product anyway. However if we are alerted prior to breakfast time that a guest has... More

I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Sumner. It is centrally located with a small car park and pleasant gardens. Inside it is very clean, tastefully furnished and comfortable. The owners are extremely hospitable and happy to recommend things to do etc. The bedroom was at the front on the top floor, yes you could hear... More

This is a small B & B operation with a delightful French accent. The appointments, rooms and service are excellent and in a city that is in recovery mode from the recent earthquakes it was a delightful place to stay. Le Petit is located in Sumner on a main street and one street back from the Pacific coast. It is... More

Stayed here two nights in February. Great location close to beach shops and restaurants and only 20 minutes drive into Christchurch. Bruce and Martine were good hosts. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable with very tasteful french furniture. Breakfast was good and lots of it served in a nice loung/dining area. We all enjoyed our stay here and would... More

A beautiful room with a comfy bed and plenty of room for suitcases with space to relax, a good shower to cap off this great place. The breakfast was nice and the home made croissants yummy. Good location over the road from the beach tho quiet of a night to give a good nights sleep.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely place in Sumner. It is beautifully maintained and quite comfortable. Bruce and Martine are delightful hosts. It is a stone's throw from the beach and a nice walk into the town for restaurants. It is a pretty community coming back from the devastating destruction of the earthquakes. Nice breakfast and pleasant conversation!
