This was the coziest and most well equipped B&B I have ever stayed at!! The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was amazing, etc etc. You even get your own den where Jennifer provides you with a delicious, healthy breakfast. I felt like this would be exactly the type of place I would like to live in!... More

Here you can feel comfortable ... The quiet location allows full relaxation after the long flight to CHC. The guest apartment is very loving. Our hosts were both really helpful and had great tips ready for our upcoming vacation. Restaurant and shopping are within walking distance. This place was a great start for us on our NZ roadtrip.

The rooms were compact but comfortable. Continental breakfasts were provided. The hosts, Jan and Jennifer were eager to help, and did a washer load of washing for us free of charge. The accommodation is convenient for Christchurch and its surroundings. The hosts were very helpful in pointing us to good restaurants. Secure parking was provided, and an electronic key was lent... More

Jan and Jenny are the most wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. It's a home away from home; and if your home is a haven then you have a good idea of what awaits you at the Chester. Highly recommended.

Jan and Jennifer could not have been more accommodating and helpful as we started our vacation on NZ's Southern Island, and the apartment suite is quite comfortable with a sophisticated decor.

A luxurious bed and breakfast in a nice quiet street in Christchurch. It's a very peaceful location and a lovely stylish building. Close to most amenities and a short walk to the bus stop. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had initially booked two long weekends for September 2011 at The Chester, for England's originally planned RWC games. Games were switched to Dunedin and Jan, our host, immediately released us from any obligation, which was a generous gesture considering we had reserved the accommodation a year earlier. That seemed totally unfair, so we reached a compromise and we stayed... More

Self-contained B and B accommodation on quiet street within walking distance of central Christchurch. Continental breakfast is brought to your room or left in fridge for you to have at your leisure. Large, clean room and pleasant and helpful owners. Eating places nearby without need to go into Christchurch.

The decor to this room is very stylish and quirky. I really liked it and it had a nice feel. the location is great, being very close to the Christchurch city centre. The hosts were also nice, friendly people. My only complaint is that I found the mattress a bit hard, so my sleep quality wasn't the best.
