The owner was fantastic! He cooked a beautiful breakfast and was super flexible in terms of our check out time when we asked for a late checkout. The location is great, wifi is complimentory and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The Classic Villa is definitely a place we would recommend in Christchurch! More

This is a small boutique hotel with loads of atmosphere - it used to be an old Rectory. We had a lovely big room during our first two nights (room 1) – others are smaller and if you can get that room 1, I would recommend it. The rooms include a very big step-in shower. The hotel has a big... More

My apologies to Lynn. We do have a list and menus of all Restaurants that are available and open. I possibly thought she had seen this. My sincere apologies. We also have a Visitor Point Brochure Rack with all attractions that are up and running. More

Nice comfortable room and hotel. Great location to the once thriving cbd. Only negative is the wireless which runs haphazardly. More

we only had a short stayover in Christchurch but we decided to try and find accomodation that was close to the CBD that had not been affected by the earthquakes (this in itself is quite a challange). The Classic Villa was in perfect condition and seemed to be not effected by the earthquake at all. the rooms were great, bathoom... More

This started our month stay in nz and a great start it was. The property is luckily just outside of the city centre exclusion zone and therefore is still in a great spot for The botanical gardens, a walk along the river and around the earthquake spots (recommended to give you some perspective. The breakfasts are plentiful and of high... More

Great travel oasis......... Right in town near the Botanical Gardens and the Museum. Also half a block away from the pick-up point for the Antactica Center which should be on everyone's list in Christchurch. Very hospitable! More

Amazing location, across from the art center (hope this will re-open soon!) and steps from the beautiful botanic gardens and informative and interesting museum. Large room with toasty fireplace, comfy bed and nice bathroom. Internet access. Nice breakfast. Pretty patio. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Booked by our tour leader, Robert of Tailored Travel. Great big room, very clean, rather helpful staff, free internet, great breakfast served by the staff. Guests share a kitchen and a living room so you might feel almost like at home. Very social atmosphere during the breakfast since all guests sit around one big table; very unusual! Lots of books and magazines available as well as coffee, tea and... More

The owners of the Classic Villa are dedicated to hospitality. We were supposed to stay in the Classic Villa from March 14-16th, but because of the devastating earthquake in downtown Christchurch our reservations had been cancelled. The reason was because the Classic Villa had not yet received electricty or water. The owners, Peter and Jan, offered to host us in... More

We stayed at the Classic Villa for three nights. The room was wonderful and the house had excellent amenities. The location is perfect for visiting Christchurch. Unfortunately, the earthquake hit Christchurch while we were visiting. The Classic Villa suffered some damage but generally made it through the quake well. We were able to stay there the night after the earthquake.... More
