Pro's: Great location. Great breakfast. Close to Botanical Gardens. Convenient parking. Cons': Room a bit small and dark. A bit overpriced for total package. We enjoyed our stay, but the owner was a bit curt and distant, but was very polite, and the breakfast was delightful.

My wife and I recently stayed at this property. We had a very relaxing and were very pleased with the level of personal service that we received from the owner, Peter. This property is very clean and centrally located. Peter prepared a very interesting mix of food for breakfast that included, salmon, thin crust Italian pizza and a wide range... More

The Classic Villa is an odd mixture. Really an upmarket B & B in a very quiet street. We had a superior room with two 4' beds, a desk, two chairs, tv. There was a good shower but the towels have seen better days and the loo roll was flimsy!! These are petty problems of course but we were surprised... More

My wife and I spent 2 nights in Christchurch and stayed at the Classic Villa in a deluxe room. The classic villa is a wonderful B&B. The room wasn't huge, but was wonderful and very clean. Peter, the host is very helpful. breakfast is very good. The villa is very well located.

This is a lovely b and b near the Botanical Gardens in Christchurch. It is in an old mansion, and the room we stayed in couldn't have been nicer. The manager (sorry, can't remember her name) is very welcoming and knowledgeable. We were only there one night, but if you are there longer, it would be a very comfortable place... More

The Classic Villa offers everything that is good about the 'boutique hotel' concept. It's small enough to offer real personal touches, in terms of service. Peter looked after us so well, making coffee to suit our respective tastes, offering advice for dining locally, and generally keeping things on a very even keel. Christchurch has been through so much over the... More

This was the 12th hotel we have stayed in on our visit ' down under ' .All the rest have been in corporate hotels so this was just a really pleasant surprise. Excellent welcome, and although we only stayed here less than 24 hours it is an establishment I would have been happy to have spent 2 days plus in.

This place seems to usually be referred to as a boutique hotel. Whilst that is fair, it could just as well be classified as a first rate B&B. My wife and I stayed there recently for two nights. We were highly impressed. Indeed we cannot even think of any minor criticism to make! Our room was advertised. as a Luxury... More

This property is a very nice oasis in the middle of a city that is rebuilding post earthquake. In a city where so many have experienced disaster, this villa stands tall a step above with wonderful accommodations but even better than the very comfortable setting is the staff. Ana, the bubbly Polish associate, greeted us with a wonderful optimism, excitement... More

This hotel is a beautiful old Victorian House (with a more modern additional upstairs). We really enjoyed our stay here – what really put it over the top was the manager – Noni. She was lovely to chat with – it felt like you were staying with your mom and she was on your side as she told you about... More
