I arrived at 2am and found the key Karen and Wayne had left out for me, got into my room and they had left a light on and the heater blasting (it was soo cold outside!). It was a very warm welcome to say the least and they were full of tips eg where to eat and the bus etc.... More

We stayed in the Te Wapu suite, which is the ground floor of the main house, splashing out for the final 2 nights of our trip to Australia and New Zealand. Wayne and Karen are the friendly and hard-working owners who showed us round and were always available for tips of how to get about and where to eat etc.... More

Stayed in one of the suites in the back building - which can be recommended as it is well away from the road noise. We had a pleasant stay although the bed was a little "lumpy". Nicely appointed room. The complimentary breakfast was okay but very standard and nothing special.

Rooms are a bit close to the street, but that is how all of the hotels are in the area. My wife and I paid a bit more and stayed in the back portion of the hotel. If you can afford to spend a few extra dollars I recommend being in the back. Nice room, but bed was lumpy and... More

I swear I published this a long time ago but either way. This hotel and still sticks with us even 6 months after our visit. Friendly, warm, well furbished, comfy, accommodating, helpful, ultimately perfect for a visit to Christchurch. Far enough from downtown that you can enjoy some peace and yet close enough to restaurants and shops that you feel... More

This was a very pleasant place to stay with friendly owners, great facilities including kitchenette and jacuzzi. We walked to the Botanical Gardens, the cathedral(still not repaired) and other central attractions. It was easy to find using a city map.

We spent 2 nights here. The owners Wayne and Karen were friendly (and the dog Raffles too) and extremely helpful with everything. For our first night, we stayed in the spa studio. For our second night, the Webb Suite. Both rooms were well furnished and equipped with amenities. This place also has the coziness not found in big brand hotels.... More

We stayed at Merivale Manor as a family of four for 3 nights. The room was a perfect set up for us with a queen bed, single bed and sofa bed. The motel provided free Wi-Fi, complementary use of the laundry, free continental breakfast provisions for our first evening and chocolates on arrival. It was in a great location, within... More

We stayed at Merivale Manor for 3 nights and the bed was so comfortable I didn't want to leave. It was nice to have a very light continental breakfast, it was all we needed. Everything was very clean and the double shower was magnificent. Will stay again.

Last stop for our 9 days road trip. Room is very cozy and comfortable. The land lord is very friendly and helpful, thank you Wayn. Located in quite and safe area so you can walk to the pub or restaurant nearby. Highly recommend.
