I loved my stay at this beautiful Manor and one night was not enough! And the opportunity to take "Raffles" (a very welcoming Schnauzer) for a walk shortly after my arrival was the highlight, as an avid dog lover.

warm welcome from Wayne. Upgrade to Peacock Suite (accepted!) which was delightful. Helpful with local advice and directions as mine was a whistle stop visit to Christchurch. Don't hesitate to book here. On main road into town but very quiet, main house set back from road. Refurbished 2014.

It's home away from home.. but way better. Wayne was amazing to deal with upon check in. The rooms are amazing and very luxurious. They have recently given the main house a multi million dollar makeover and well with staying in one of these room. The complementary light breakfast was a great touch!! Thanks and will be back!!

Merivale manor is a beautiful 19th century manor, cozy and with a beautiful old world charm. It's also very well maintained and we'll appointed. The rooms are a little cramped so if you have three or four in a room and suitcases then things could get quite cramped. Our room had one toilet, a little small, but elegant and we'll... More

Couldn't fault Merivale Manor! The hosts go above and beyond. They provide a simple breakfast (toast with spreads or cereal with milk). Free wifi, immaculate, large and nicely designed suites. Their dog Raffles is the cutest lil thing too!

The acccomodation, attention to detail and atmosphere at Merivale Manor are excellent. I stayed in various rooms during four months of earthquake repairs to my house in Christchurch and enjoyed all rooms. Wayne and Karen are wonderful hosts and the staff are friendly and efficient. Highly recommended. i stayed at Merivale Manor for four months off and on during earthquake... More

I arrived at 2am and found the key Karen and Wayne had left out for me, got into my room and they had left a light on and the heater blasting (it was soo cold outside!). It was a very warm welcome to say the least and they were full of tips eg where to eat and the bus etc.... More

We stayed in the Te Wapu suite, which is the ground floor of the main house, splashing out for the final 2 nights of our trip to Australia and New Zealand. Wayne and Karen are the friendly and hard-working owners who showed us round and were always available for tips of how to get about and where to eat etc.... More

Stayed in one of the suites in the back building - which can be recommended as it is well away from the road noise. We had a pleasant stay although the bed was a little "lumpy". Nicely appointed room. The complimentary breakfast was okay but very standard and nothing special.

Rooms are a bit close to the street, but that is how all of the hotels are in the area. My wife and I paid a bit more and stayed in the back portion of the hotel. If you can afford to spend a few extra dollars I recommend being in the back. Nice room, but bed was lumpy and... More
