We were welcomed by Karen, Wayne and Raffles. They are so lovely and very helpful. Wayne recommended some hidden gems in the city centre, it made our trip. The room was immaculate, spa bath, all the accessories required to cook, but close enough to restaurants that you don't need to. We were in a room close to the street, noise... More

We stayed at the Merrivale Manor in the beautiful Te Wepu Suite. We could not have asked for anything more - we loved it. The Manor was charming and elegant. The suite was absolutely gorgeous! Beautifully and tastefully decorated. Very large rooms, comfortable cozy beds, even a complementary breakfast. Great location being able to walk into Merrivale Village. We had... More

We stayed for one night in the historical Manor, which was so thoughtfully decorated with attention to detail, we loved it, wished we had longer there. Very large room with comfortable bed, with lovely bathroom amenities. Karen and Wayne were very friendly, and helpful. We unfortunately forgot our phone chargers, Wayne very kindly found two and lent us overnight! The... More

Hi to all existing and prospective Manor guests ! Its great to get your feedback, both positive and critical - we listen, we learn and we attempt to make your experience here the very best possible. It's trying to snow here today, but the lovely elm next to the Manor is slowly stirring back to life - spring is almost... More

Karen and Wayne, are the definition of impeccable hosts. We stayed in the wonderfully decorated Manor, which has huge rooms, comfortable beds, excellent linens and a great living room. Excellent restaurants, coffee shops and shopping only a short walk away. Couldn't ask for more!

We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. We held a hens party in the early evening with 13 ladies, lots of room for our hens do and Wayne and Karen were AMAZING at ensuring all our needs were attended to!!! Even taking photos with their own camera and emailing them to us! Highly recommend Merivale Manor, great atmosphere, exceptional service... More

Having stayed here once before and having thoroughly enjoyed my stay, I was looking forward to returning. The staff were very friendly, it was a bonus to have a continental breakfast included and the WIFI was great too. Unfortunately, however, I was left a little disappointed with the quality of the unit. The bathroom sink had a large crack in... More

We stayed here at the spa studio. Room was just ok. Not much spacious. Though their kitchen was very much useful. One advice... if possible don't go for studios here as its very close to the road and you might not get sound sleep.

We had the pleasure of staying in two room types at Merivale Manor, at the beginning and end of our two week stay in New Zealand. The first upstairs room was fantastic. Spacious, clean and warm and had everything we needed. We were very pleasantly surprised to receive complimentary breakfast. On our return we had booked the two bedroom downstairs front... More

We recently stayed a night in an upstairs front room of the Manor. The room was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and we were impressed with the facilities, including beautiful bed linen, towels and a complimentary breakfast supplied. There was a heat pump in the room and a bathroom heater. The shower had excellent pressure with nice toiletries supplied. The hosts... More

This post is belated, but I wanted to write about how excellent our stay was at Merivale Manor in December 2013. We were two couples on a two-week road trip around New Zealand and stayed at various accommodations, and Merivale Manor ranked among the most impressionable. Wayne and Karen were fantastic hosts; while we only stayed there for one night... More
