We had our Christmas meal at the restaurant here and it was by far the worst holiday meal we've ever had. The meat was dry, roast vegetables uncooked, smothered in an awful cranberry sauce, etc. For $55, it was a huge disappointment and scam. If you're in Christchurch at a festive time, don't waste your money here. more

Right in the heart of Christchurch, next to the Cathedral is this great place to stay. The room was very large and luxurious and the bathroom big and clean. We stayed at the Warners for the first test of the Lions Rugby Tour. The Hotel is on Cathedral Square which is at the centre of Christchurch and yes the original sash windows do mean that it can be noisy - we stayed on the 2nd floor (Room 213) which was slightly better.
