Great place to stay after having spent 3 memorable weeks touring South Island in a campervan. Centrally situated, very comfortable a real oasis. Owners have spent a considerable amount of money refurbishing after the earthquakes. Would definitely recommend and stay again if we visit NZ again.

My husband and I visited Christchurch during our honeymoon in July 2013 and we stayed at Orari for two nights. The B+B itself is absolutely beautiful and even the small-ish room we had selected was well appointed and perfect for our needs. We were impressed with the number of breakfast options we were offered, and everything we ordered was delicious.... More

Only had time for a one night stay however wish it were longer. Beautiful grounds and building, nicely decorated and very welcoming. Staff were accomodating and friendly and took the time to share traveling stories with us. Gluten free friendly meals available which wasn't a hassle, couldn't fit in all the food offered at breakfast. My only suggestion would be... More

We had short stay in the apartment only 12 hours, we happy about the decoration of house with great breakfast and free wine tasting , cozy room with standard facilities, nice attached shower room, just little lack of space for our luggage. Wifi good, friendly and helpful staff, we appreciated the small lift for luggage send to second floor. Location... More

Great location close to the centre of what remains of Christchurch but car parking is in a very small and very tight car park. Our twin Queen (Room 10) has a sloping roof so you have to mind your head. One of the windows did not shut properly making the room noisy from the traffic. This was reported on leaving.... More

I'm not a city person but if I were staying in CC again and wanted to visit the city highlights like Riccarton Bush, Hagley Park, Canterbury Museum, shopping.. then I would treat myself and stay here. The staff were quite friendly, the rooms (ensuite) simply amazing with lots of space and looking out into the garden. Breakfast consisted of lots... More

I heard about Orari on Trip Advisor when researching for the trip - I like small (aka "boutique") guesthouse style accommodation with breakfast included, and I was attracted by a Trip Advisor comment that Orari is more a small hotel than a "true B&B". That was music to my ears - I don't like the feeling of actually staying in... More

Orari is a beautifully restored heritage building with a lovely garden, within easy walking distance to the museum, which doubles as a pickup point for buses to Akaroa and the excellent Christchurch Rebuild red bus tour. Superbly well-run by helpful and good-natured staff. Breakfast attracts a cross-section of guests from different parts of the globe, with experiences to share over... More

We stayed here for three nights and had lots of time to explore Christchurch as it can be easily reached on foot. There are good restaurants nearby as well as the botanic gardens and excellent museum. A great welcome, lovely breakfast and a complimentary glass of wine in the evening in the sitting room to meet up with fellow guests and... More

Hotel is in a very good location. We could walk to all the things we wanted to do, as well as restaurants in the evening. We left our car parked in their spaces and didn't use it until we left. Our room was nice size with an ensuite shower. Breakfast had both cold items and eggs to order with bacon... More
