We had a warm welcome from Ann and Harold when we arrived. Eliza's manor is a beautiful Victorian home, close to the center of town, with lots of Christchurch history. Furnishings are in keeping with the period, but with all the modern conveniences as well. Breakfast is delicious and will keep you going all day. A great place to stay... more

We made a loop around the southern half of the South Island ending our trip in Christchurch. Thus we stayed at Eliza's twice in two different rooms. The manor is a lovely Victorian and the interior (other than the bathrooms) fully embraces the Victorian theme. Rooms and baths in the Heritage rooms we were in were huge (there are two... more

Ann is the most welcoming host and full of information about places to see and places to eat; the Manor is a wonderful historic setting and the bedrooms compliment the history of the place but with modern bathrooms etc; the breakfasts are huge and delicious!it's in easy walking distance of the centre of Christchurch more

We stayed just one night at Eliza's Manor, which was a shame. It's such a lovely place, in a great location for exploring Christchurch ... a lot of the main attractions, including the Botanical Gardens and the city centre, are within walking distance. I remember it most, however, for Ann's help and hospitality - faultless. She made us feel like... more

Beautiful mansion preserved in a modern setting. The room had a great bath. Breakfasts were cooked to order and were excellent. Service by the owners was beyond reproach. Overall an enjoyable place to stay. more

Ann greeted us like long lost friends and the overall stay way outstanding. Quality of the room and breakfast was better than we could have hoped for and I would have absolutely no problem recommending anyone to stay there. Hopefully we will come back sometime in the future. more

At the end of a 5 week holiday travelling around NZ we found an absolute gem for our last 3 days. Ann & Harold made us very welcome and the adage of 'arrive as guests and leave as friends' truly applies in this instant. Our room was sumptious and the whole building was as good as any 5 star hotel.... more

Our stay at Eliza's Manor was absolutely brilliant! When we first walked in the door we felt completely at home - and after a nine hour flight it was comforting to be greeted so warmly. Our room was bright, sunny and oh so comfortable....and the daily supply of cookies were very much appreciated. Since this was our first trip to... more

My wife and I had an absolutely fabulous stay at Eliza’s. Ann and Harold run a splendid establishment and provide for your every need. The house is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable, well equipped, clean, and charming. The breakfast is varied and excellent. Ann is cheerful and extremely helpful. I heartily recommend Eliza’s for your next stay in Christchurch. more
