Like everyone else here, we really enjoyed our stay at Eliza's. We arrived knackered after a 24 hour flight and were welcomed like old friends by Ann. She upgraded our room to a Heritage Room free of charge as there was one vacant. Needless to say, we were impressed! Our room was large and spacious, and we were delighted to... more

My wife and I started and ended our 13 day motorcycle tour of the South Island at Eliza's Manor in Christchurch. What a wonderful place!! Ann took such good care of us. She greeted us as we arrived via taxi, took us to her best room (Eliza's), and answered all of our questions about what to do that first day.... more

Hubby and I had a one night stay but wished we could have stayed longer. Wonderful hosts. Great hot breakfast. Yummm. It was like being in someone's personal home. Beautiful grand old house oozing character. Handy to Hagley park, Botanical Gardens and town centre. Comfortable room with a great bathroom. It reminded us very much of the best B&Bs we... more

We booked for two nights and stayed for fifteen! The service was above expectations, very friendly, not intrusive and extremely welcoming. Very comfortable King sized bed, spotless modern bathroom and everything arranged for maximum comfort. The location was convenient to Christchurch city and close to parks, restaurants and other attractions. The breakfast was first rate, plenty to eat and numerous... more

Fantastic B&B. Could not have been happier with my choice. Spacious rooms with old-world charm and modern amenities. This place has a warmth and character missing from your generic multinational hotels. Did I mention the jar of delicious home-made anzac cookies supplied in my room? The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Full of great suggestions and advice, my enjoyment... more

Charming, warm, traditional atmosphere in an Edwardian setting. Hosts are exceptionally helpful and friendly. It is actually a small hotel, rather than a residential B&B, but it has a comfortable home-like atmosphere. Stairway access to upstairs rooms may be difficult for mobility-impaired persons. Rooms in rear of hotel are quieter than rooms facing the roadway. Excellent location for exploring Christchurch... more

We had a warm welcome from Ann and Harold when we arrived. Eliza's manor is a beautiful Victorian home, close to the center of town, with lots of Christchurch history. Furnishings are in keeping with the period, but with all the modern conveniences as well. Breakfast is delicious and will keep you going all day. A great place to stay... more

We made a loop around the southern half of the South Island ending our trip in Christchurch. Thus we stayed at Eliza's twice in two different rooms. The manor is a lovely Victorian and the interior (other than the bathrooms) fully embraces the Victorian theme. Rooms and baths in the Heritage rooms we were in were huge (there are two... more
