a warm welcome awaits at the top of the hill from Wendy. the views are stunning and the accommodation is very comfortable. Christchurch is an easy drive away. I just hope that the recent events have not damaged the property

My wife and I, along with our 17mth old baby, stayed in "The Loft" room at Villa Alexandra. It had great views and was self-contained. Having said that, we made sure that we never missed the breakfast put on by Wendy each morning! Sumner is a lovely little town and we enjoyed our 3 days wandering around. Just one word... More

We are a family of five and the accommodation and breakfasts that Wendy provided were brilliant - we couldn't ask for more. She also gave tips on day trips and was a marvellous host. Would definitely go back to Villa Alexandra.

My wife & i ended our 2008 NZ holiday at the Villa Alexandra so we decided there was no better place to start our return trip in November 2009.After a 32 hour flight & in pouring rain we were greeted by Wendy just like old friends,we enjoyed a coffee & Wendys delicious home made Xmas Cake in the kitchen. We stayed... We've spend five weeks sleeping in a caravan on our journey through New Zealand before returning it in Christchurch. We decided to stay two nights in Christchurch and we could hardly find a nicer place than Alexandra for a quiet and romantic rest. Yes, it's bit far away from the city centre and you have to climb a steep hill... More

An old villa with a beautiful garden, on top of a hill with views to the beach & ocean - an extremely nice setting for a couple of nights in Sumner, just next door to Christchurch. Also a good base for exploring the Banks peninsula. Cooked breakfasts gave a good start for the day and the tranquility provided a good... More

We stayed at the villa for three nights before going on our three week camper van trip of New Zealand. It was a restful place to get over the flight with stunning views and easy access to beach and walks. Wendy made us feel very at home but privacy was respected and the charm of the Edwardian Villa is delightful.... More

The turreted Villa is set up on he hill over looking the bay. We were treated to fantastic views from the veranda and lovely breakfasts! Wendy helped us with out next trips. She even posted a item back to us in the UK when we left it at Alexandra! Definately recommended.

Wendy was kind enough to sort out a shuttle from Christchurch airport for us to Villa Alexandra - when we saw the size of the hill we were glad we didn't have to walk up it. On arrival we were given coffee and biscuits and shown our room. The bedroom was lovely and the breakfast was beautiful. The icing on... More

We felt very much at home staying at Villa Alexandra. The room was great, the breakfast lovely and we had interesting conversations with our hosts. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone needing accommodation in Christchurch. Rawlins (UK)
