We stayed in the motel block on the second floor in a family suite. We had all the basic facilities we needed for our stay. Free Wi-FI internet was great with unlimited use and good speeds. The staff we all very helpful and friendly.. also great with directions and bookings, taxis etc. The Strawberry Fare restaurant which is attached to... More

My husband and I stay recently and very impressed with the Hotel. Great value for $ From the check in to check out we found the staff professionally, friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. There was no lift to our first floor room but no different to hotels we have stayed at in Europe. Would stay... More

We had the level 1 room which probably costs a little more. Big room with basic facilities, kettle, sink and fridge in room. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate packets provided. Tina is very friendly and helpful with directions and booking of a city tour of Christchurch and taxis. Wi-Fi is free and generous which was a bonus. There is a... More

Arrived to this hotel at the start of the recent "hundred year flood" so spent more time than anticipated in the room itself. The accommodation was quite dated but clean. Bed was OK. My husband got a knot on his leg when he slipped trying to get into the high-sided tub, so be aware. Water pressure was great. No kitchen... More

Drove into Christchurch after a long drive from Westport. Stopped in at the first motel I came to after driving through the city. The receptionist told me that there weren't too many motels in Christchurch any more, and most were fully booked due to community events. So I took what I could. Mistake no 1. Horrible hot room, no ventilation... More

The hotel has probably not been renovated since the 1960s or 1970s. It was very dated and there were cobwebs in several corners. The shower head was very low... I'm 5'10 (1m80) and I had to crouch down to use it. The bed was ok... a tad springy but it came with an electric blanket which was a nice touch.... More

Nice clean tidy rooms for your stay away from home, perhaps getting a little dated but value for money it's excellent handy to many pubs and restaurants with the added bonus of being attached to the Strawberry Fare Restaurant, desert not to be missed.

Just spent three nights in Christchurch - better than a motel, good food and drink nearby, quiet and comfortable room, helpful staff. What more could you want. The restaurant out fron is very good for breakfast (and has a great reputation for desserts)

This is one of the better priced accomodation in Christchurch as 4 of us were travelling together. The Strawberryfare restaurant is the main reason why we chose this hotel and there is a nearby Hagley park where we can take a walk. This is a cozy place to stay for a night in Spring. The rooms are adequate with electric... More
