One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. Very comfortable and friendly. Always seems to be a community kinda feel to the place. Zoe and laura and Karo ar running the place amazingly. 10-15 min walk to city center. About 5 min walk to closest bus stops. Big car park and big kitchens with good utensils.

Things might have changed since we visited, but this was unfortunately the worst BBH hostel we stayed in when we visited New Zealand. We had about 7-10 spiders of varying size in our room and bathroom that I had to clean up (my partner hates spiders). It was quite obvious from that and the webs etc that things hadn't been... More

I stayed in many hostels during my 9 month trip in NZ, but Foley Towers was the only one that felt like "home". The hostel is very "sociable" - lots of relaxing areas to mingle with fellow travellers, big tables in the kitchens (but also small ones if you prefer). Location: Very central, yet quiet. Only 10 min walk to... More

One of the best Backpackers I have been in NZ so far. The double room is great and the garden is also a must. Staff is helpful. Price is good. We stayed for about 2 weeks and we had a really great time.

Best hostel I've stayed at in NZ! The hosts Janet and Tom as well as Zoe ( the manager) are doing a great job keeping Foley Towers a clean, cosy and friendly place. There are no bunk beds in share rooms and 2 well equipped, spacious kitchens. Relax and chill out in the beautiful garden :) And don't miss the... More

Stayed here on our final night in NZ after an amazing 6 weeks travelling. We managed to park on the drive which was a bonus as we needed to sort out our hire car before dropping it back at the airport. Our room was a private double with shared bathroom (separate toilet and shower rooms next door to our room).... More

My partner and I stayed at this hostel for 2 weeks and were extremely happy of our stay. We only planned to stay for a few days but I have to say it’s pretty difficult to leave such a good place! Firstly, the rooms are very comfortable. If you spend a bit of time in New Zealand you will know... More

Stayed 1 night here, reception is really helpful and attentive. There is 2 kitchen and garden with picnic table, quiet so it suit who need a good sleep, about 10 minutes walk to intercity bus station. The only complaint is the blanket is smelly.

Dear Paigekho, Thank you very much for your review. We're very happy to hear that you found our manager helpful and our accommodation quiet. We're disappointed to hear that the feather duvet was smelly. Fresh, clean linen is always provided for every new guest, we are now checking the duvets to find out which one needs to go to the...
