The Latimer is located just outside of Christchurch City Centre in a suburban area, approximately 5 minutes walk from the cathedral and main shopping area. The local vicinity has an "interesting" feel to it....couldn't put my finger on it precisely, but there was an edginess walking around some of the streets near the hotel after dark. Good location and reasonable size rooms. We were given a disabled room on the ground floor which was dark. Room size OK and reasonable quiet. We would stay again but stayed here as the Chataeu on the Park was full up and this is a much nicer Hotel more

Stayed here on spec. as let down by previous accommodation. We had a suite for less than some B & Bs, very smart, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Quiet location, short walk to Cathedral Square, very good value for money. I'd recommend it without hesitation. more
