Fabulous boutique hotel in a good location without being in the city centre, just near Hagley Park. Staff service was excellent with particular mention for the concierge who did an outstanding job in the location and return of prescription glasses which had been left in Greymouth. Apparently the George is the best hotel in Christchurch. The food was pleasant and the staff nice. The rooms are not remotely 5stars, and that is no biggie for me, but I think would be for people who were expecting it. Spent six days at the George, could not have been more satisfied. The service was exceptional, room was great, food was excellent. Staff responded to our every need. The hotel is located next to a an immense park in a superior part of the city. You cannot go wrong at the George. more
