We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is grand with high ceilings, beautiful architecture. The rooms are spacious and clean with washer/dryer in the room and a kitchenette. OUr room was two stories and you had to climb stairs to get to the bedroom. Television, free wifi also provided. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. The staff were friendly... More

We spent two nights here. We found it without too much trouble. considering the maps on the GPS were out of date. However, talking to locals, the closure of roads and changes of traffic are constant because of the rebuilding. Now, back to the hotel : it is as beautiful inside as out. It is centrally located, which males it... More

Worth staying just for the architecture --- massive hallways with incredibly high ceilings - this 100+ year old former government building has been restored to in all its majesty. The rooms are spacious with washers and dryers and kitchenettes - the two bedroom suites are great value for families. Friendly staff. Very comfortable beds My only concerns would be: -... More

Crazily Late Writing This Review, we actually stayed in the hotel in 2010 - not 2015, so not sure how things have been affected by the earthquake. We had just a spectacular time and absolutel loved everything about the hotel and the city.Hotel was helped by the act that we had just spent a month in a campervan, so when... More

Amazing this beautiful building managed to remain I damaged from the recent earthquake. The hotel has been painstakingly restored and is in great shape. The rooms work great for families and the location is perfect for walking to the local sites. The botanical garden and museum were both well worth the time to visit them.

We stayed for two nights at this hotel at the beginning of May and were pleasantly surprised on arriving to find a lovely spacious room with a living room and kitchen area on one floor and bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs. The Heritage is one of the very few buildings in central Christchurch that remains undamaged and unchanged after the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 and I guess will have an important role to play in the years to come as the remodelled city takes shape. As of May 2015 it remains oddly isolated where it is but is well positioned... More
