Stayed in hotel grand chancellor for 2 nights. Location is not good enough, it takes a few minutes walk to the bus stops, tram stations and the catherdral. I would rather choose to stay in ibis which offer a similar price. In fact there are a lot of hotels which situated at the heart of the town with similar prices... more

This was the nicest place we stayed during our Australia/New Zealand Vacation. We had a beautiful view of the Southern Alps and central Christchurch. It’s in a great location, super close to the Arts Center, Museums, Cathedral, Shopping, etc. The room & bathroom was well lit and spacious and everything was clean. Stayed here for two nights and couldn't have been happier. We arrived mid afternoon Friday and parked in the 5 minute loading zone directly outside the hotel. Booked 2-bedrooms & got 2-levels, 2-bedrooms, 2-bathrooms & 2-balconies . Huge apartment with fully-stocked kitchen with incredible views over city & hills. Staff were friendly & the hotel is in the city centre. Just a little out-dated (probably 80's styling) the apartment would not be suitable for people with disabilities.
