Yes its a bit dated, yes the language barrier can be a nuisance, but if you are travelling in a group of 8 - 12, this place is perfect. We hired the venue adjacent to the Conference room. Easily sleeps 12, huge dining / tv area, large kitchen, own courtyard. The ideal accommodation for large groups or families.

A sizeable room with adequate self catering facilities. A typical urban motel with a view of either your car or somebody else's. The swimming pool is minuscule. The location is quiet but it is a lengthy walk to down town or to reach local eateries. An adequate base but not somewhere to spend time in the room or on site.

Will certainly not be recommending the Camelot Motor Lodge to any of our friends or relations. We were staying there due to a family member being rushed through by ambulance from Ashburton and they certainly were not very understanding under what was a very difficult weekend for us. Trying to understand the language barrier wasn't easy, Motor Lodge certainly could... More

Older style hotel a short walk from the city centre. We stayed on 2 seperate occasions en route. The first floor room was dark and curtains had to be closed unless you were happy with people looking in as they passed on the outside access balcony. Internet access in my room was only possible via ethernet cable. Friendly, helpful staff. We... More

Heading South so stayed at the Camelot Lodge. Rooms were basic but comfortable and all we really needed for our stay. Staff were really helpful and helped us select the right place for dinner. Nice inviting and friendly place as part of our journey.

Situated about 20 minutes walk from the city centre this is a convenient location for visitors to Christchurch. It has several dining options in close proximity. The rooms are a little cramped with a bathroom and kitchen off the bedroom. Bed is comfortable. The motel is set up to look like the castle of King Arthur with false turrets outside... More

This Motel was very clean. Rooms are dark. Rooms were slightly noisy as the doors are all on the car park. There is a nice pool and BBQ. The location is good as there are no hotels in the CBD. Nice and close to the botanical gardens and main Park.

I am appalled at how this place could possibly be rated #9 out of the motels/hotels in Christchurch! Not to mention it's lack of poor reviews. I have never felt misled by Tripadvisor reviews until we stayed here. We chose to stay here based on its positive reviews. I have no idea what these people are talking about and the... More

We stayed at this motel at the beginning and end of a driving tour of South Island. The motel owners made us most welcome and provided advice on good value local eateries as well as where to visit both in Christchurch and further afield. The motel is just outside the city centre which was devastated in the 2011 earthquake. It... More

We stayed at Camelot Lodge for two nights at the start and end of our driving tour of the South Island. Dave and Des were just sooo nice, and the rooms were very comfortable. The bathroom was nice and new and the boys (2yrs and 4yrs) loved the cinema style reclining couches to watch the DVD they borrowed from reception... More
