This is a basic- level motel, handily sited for Hagley Park and the railway. Our room was small with a bed-sit arrangement ie there was no separate bedroom. This did not bother us but may not suit everyone. It was clean but desperately in need of a makeover- the decor is tired and very drab. We felt it was overpriced... More

Negatives/positive- I felt like I needed a degree to operate the heater but once sorted had a super warm sleep Negatives- had to pay for internet and was slow as dial up Negatives- there was a fragrant smell... Great motel near center of town. Can walk to Hadley Park. Rooms had kitchenette with coffee and tea, also cream. Heated pads on beds which were great on chilly nights. Only downside was $5 charge each day for WiFi.

We were desperate for accommodation at a reasonable price so ignored poor reviews and stayed here for 3 nights in February 2014. A pleasant surprise! Dated decor does not matter. We stayed in 2 different rooms and found both spacious, clean, comfortable and not noisy. One was opposite the bus stop. Very convenient to the city.

I would never stay here again. First the bed was uncomfortable, and the street noise was so loud I had to wear ear plugs. When I went into the bathroom in the morning, almost fell from the water all over the bathroom floor. Looked up, and saw the water dripping from ceiling. Asked mgt to fix, and they later said... Upon arrival we were taken back by the gastly food smell at reception, which by the way remained every time we entered the reception, any time of day!! The room was adequate, with a very firm, double bed. The decor is rather unusual with "spider web like black string" curtains acting as shadow curtains but not providing any privacy. the... More

Nice staff but rooms very basic and utilitarian. Sad outlook into neighbouring house's windows and large skip bin. Squashed spider on bathroom floor, but otherwise clean. Comfortable bed however I really wanted 2 pillows. small shower which barely got hot.

Our stay started badly. We had booked via wotif and prepaid for the room but the owner insisted we hadn't. Fortunately we had the receipt and were able to prove we had already paid. This motel was noisy - lots of noise from the busy road even though we were set back from the road. The bathroom contained dead insects... More

This place used to be good, but now just so run down. Carpet is threadbare, planning and organization slack (booked for three people and got one double bed) eventually got a new room after an argument. Room was dirty, stained, wall are was a piece of A4 paper in a frame made poorly by the owner, prob the worst I... More
