We stayed in this hotel when we arrived in Christchurch and again on the night before we left. The staff were very friendly and check in was quick and easy. The hotel is located very close to the city centre, and sits beside a lovely little park. The airport bus also runs right outside. The furnishings were very adequate and... more

Excellent location in central Christchurch. Friendly staff once you understand the accent. Across the square from restaurants and shopping. Parking $20-25 per day. Internet hookup costs $33.00 per day - way overpriced. more

My husband and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza on our last night in the South Island. I found the hotel Lobby and dining areas very nice but the rooms...........don't know if it's because we booked through Wotif. The room was very boring and dull, with two double beds (not King as requested) the bed coverings looked like something out... more

I was the opening keynote speaker at a technology conference at the Christchurch Convention Centre next door. The first room I was given had what seemed like a plywood desk, but it had a television on it and no desk chair. I went to the front desk to ask if rooms were supposed to have desk chairs, but the women... more

when i was fifteen i stayed here. that was years ago, and my first hotel experience. much of the hotel still looks the same, and the rooms while updated since then are, nevertheless, a bit tired. i wouldn't rave about the cleanliness of my room either. but i would rave about the service. from the moment i arrived to the... more

From the moment we arrived everything and everyone was excellent. The valet parking was very good and prompt, the porter bought our bags upto the room quickly, the reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. We stayed on the Club Room floor which was also excellent and the drinks and canapes on the Club Room floor were very nice and... more

This hotel is comfortable and clean with great restaurants- Canterbury Tales and Yamagen. All mod-cons with a resident pianonist. Bikes for hire enable biking around Hagley Park and 2 minutes walk from the Christchurch casino. more

The stay at the hotel was made very pleasurable by the attentive but not intrusive staff. The room in the hotel was of a size where you did not feel cramped. The location of the hotel was central to the sightseeing of the city. The amenities in the hotel catered for a casual bite to eat up to a very nice restaurant if... more

It is a very average hotel, rooms are old, bed is just way too soft. I honestly am very surprised at some of the very good reviews. I travel the whole world for business and I have stayed at crowne plazas in various places. You expect a lot more at a crowne plaza and thats not what you find when... more
