i really enjoyed staying in this hostel. it is clean, quite, has cool backyards, and friendly owners. i arrived in christchurch almost night time and need to catch other bus in the morning. therefore, i dont have enough time to see around. Alan then drove me around the city before leaving christchurch. that is very kind of him.

We really enjoyed this place! It is a home style hostel which gives it a cozy and comfortable feel. Alan was super friendly and helpful! I feel it would be hard to always share your kitchen with young travellers but he makes the effort to talk to you and give you any advice he can. Super nice guy. The backyard... More

Me and my partner and a really nice time staying with Alan and keiko. First off the place isn't a hostel, but if you're looking for a clean quiet place with owners that will give you heaps of info on everything to do on the South Island then you're in the right place. All the facilities are good and clean,... More

the hostel and rooms where super clean , as was the kitchen and bathrooms . the kitchen has everything you need . The location is mega far away from the city center properly a 30+min walk and it is about a 20+min walk from the nearest supermarket which is a pain . internet is a rip off 5dollars for 5MB... More

Having read the other reviews it seems that whether you love or hate this place really depends on the mood the owners are in. While they havn't been what one would call rude or unfriendly during our stay we, too left with the weird feeling of being unwanted guests in someone elses house, disturbing their personal privacy. In our opinion... More

With no other choice beacause every other hostel was full, we stayed one night in this weird place. Yes, it is clean and you'll get a shower and a kitchen. BUT - it is a place of two owners that makes you feel terrible! It feels like they don't even want you to be there. YOU WILL BE ENTERING A... More

Stayed in a single room, one of the few places I could fond one. Would've been better to stay closer to town center of Christchurch. It was nice and clean, and didnt have to wait to use shower or toilet in the house.

We stayed here two nights and felt like we were visiting our grandma's house. It was clean and well kept but you felt like you couldn't move for being watched. The owners were everywhere. We would have liked to watch some tv or sit in the lounge but they were there. When we at breakfast they were there. We couldn't... More

When I arrived Keiko opened the front door and greeted me, telling me to take my shoes off as I entered. I was shown to my room and then had to go into the office to pay my nights stay. I was given my room key and a limited free wifi voucher which didn't last very long but was very... More

Everything you need in a hostel. Clean kitchen, good showers, warm bedding, towels provided, 10 min walk from CBD. Friendly owners live in the same house, so more of a homestay than hostel. Free WiFi voucher too
