A little bit out of town but worth the drive. Nice comfortable 2 bedroom, upstairs apartment. Felt at home immediately. Could really relax in the country atmosphere. Lorna very friendly and helpful with local suggestions. Enjoyed our conversations with her. Good breakfast both mornings we were there. Took a walk around their huge lot and met Alfred & Sky their... This accommodation met all our expectations and more++. Hosts Lorna and Steve were gracious and welcoming - the living area included 2 bedrooms, a lounge and bathroom - all spacious, well appointed, very comfortable and clean. Being an animal lover the best for me was "out on the farm"... gorgeous alpacas (which you are allowed to hand feed), sheep and... More

We very much enjoyed meeting you both. Thank you for your lovely review - we're happy that you liked staying here. The lamb count is still 3, but the coloured ewes are looking ready. Sky and Alfie, over in the paddocks, loved your cuddles so much that they expect the same from us whenever we're near them. We hope you... More

We stayed at the Miners Arms Bed & Breakfast while visiting our daughter who was studying at the University of Canterbury. We wanted to try something a little different than just a motel, and an alpaca farm was a wonderful addition to our New Zealand vacation. The farm was about a 15-20 minute easy drive to the university campus, and... More

The accommodation was very nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. It had a very homey feel to it which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The accommodation had everything we needed for a family of four and we were able to prepare some makeshift meals in the microwave and toaster oven that were available. Our two year old... More

We spent a couple of nights at this rural B & B, a small farm with a few animals, and family pets. The place was convenient to Christchurch, breakfast was more than adequate, and the rooms were comfortable, a warm hospitable hostess.

Wow! We can't say enough about our stay at the Miners Arms B&B! First, you get a complete, spacious two-bedroom apartment with sitting room which is separate from the residence. The rooms are nicely appointed, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location is very quiet. Breakfast was ample and included fresh eggs from the farm. Lorna and Steve are the perfect... More

First time that we stayed on a farm and being able to amble around the grounds with Lorna who's such a warm and welcoming host really made the difference. Hand feeding the Alpacas was a highlight. The sheepdogs are gorgeous - Alfred and Skye. Old George too. And despite their size, they seemed to really enjoy the attention rolling over... More

We so enjoyed our stay at Miners Arms Farm. The rooms (it is actually a 2 bed apartment) were clean, well equipped and homely. the verandah was a bonus especially for eating outside and enjoying the sunset. The breakfast was excellent, we especially enjoyed Lorna's home made jams and the meal set us up for the days drive to Lake... More

We had a pleasant stay at Miners Arms. Lorna was a great host and took the time to introduce us to her farm animals. We had a lot of fun feeding the alpacas, the chickens and the sheep. We also spent some time playing with George the Labrador mongrel and the sheepdogs Alfred and Sky. It was an interesting experience... More

2A & 2C. Stayed here at the end of a tour around the South Island and wanted something a bit different with not too much of a trip to Christchurch for our flight out. We enjoyed staying here.
