Sandy (and Angus) make you feel at home when you enter this large, roomy home. Our room was spacious and very clean. Free wireless was nice. Breakfast was great and served by attentive staff. We really bonded with Sandy and hope that she and Devon will rebound from the quake that hit 2 days after our stay. Look forward to... More

I have stayed in many bed and breakfasts over the years around the world and this one would be possibly be the best. The location is ideal being close to the city and many local attractions. A lovely welcome from Sandy, the proprietor, started our stay. The premises are beautifully presented with a perfect mix of modern and traditional decor. The... More

Arrived after spending 2 weeks of freedom camping so we were looking for good bed, good shower, good breakfast and night out in Christchurch for some fine food. Achieved all of this and more. Thank you Sandy.

We loved our short stay at the Devon. It has so much characher and charm and bets any modern hotel. Sandy is extremely welcoming and the hotel is immaculate. We will definately be back and would thoroughly recommend to others who want a place that is spacious, quiet, offers outstanding service and will be memorable long after the holiday is... More

The Devon is in the centre of Christchurch within walking distance of everything. There is carparking at the rear but a car is not needed. The tram passes by the front door and the bus stop to the gondola is just around the corner. The house is comfortable and full of character. We had a huge bedroom at the rear... More

This was our first taste of New Zealand and had a warm welcome from the host. Our room was spacious and a nice ensuite. Good filling breakfasts and a great central location. Nothing really to say negative about this place, except that there is very limited parking (we couldn't get a space and unfortunately parked in a someone elses space... More

The Devon was our first taste of accommodation in NZ and what a lovely place. Very friendly people made us feel very welcome. We stayed at the beginning of our holiday in South Island and again at the end so had two different bedrooms, absolutely lovely. Very large and comfortable rooms with high ceilings in a lovely old house within... More

My wife and stayed with friends from California at Devon B&B. Rooms are large, quiet, comfortable, and well appointed, with off-street parking. Sandy and her helper made us feel very welcome -- they could not have been more gracious. Breakfast was full and tasty. The location is just a block or so from the town center, markets, and a lovely... More

We travelled all over both islands in New Zealand and stayed in about 12 different places. Devon B & B was the best located to a major (&beautiful) city and had the best breakfast and overall service and facilities. The staff were very helpful and breakfast was brilliant even by the great standards of NZ. Rooms were good sized with... More

Large comfortable rooms, bathrooms, tea making facilities and parking, minutes walk to Arts Centre and Cathedral Square. Has old world character and is quiet into the bargain. Friendly attentive service, good breakfast and helpful owner and staff and internet. Great place, will go back here again.
