I booked a four bedroom dorm for a group of friends at Thomas's hotel. Prior to arriving they were very good answering emails and helping us find the hotel (very easy by the way). The manager/receptionist was very helpful when we arrived and immediately suggested we should go and buy a bottle of wine and head to the Waitangi Day... more

I stayed at Thomas' for one night, in the backpackers section. The dormitory I was in was rather small, and the beds weren't the most comfortable, even for hostel standard. It was good enough for one night though. The kitchen, bathrooms and loundge were all clean and tidy, and quite big so there's plenty of space to hang out in... more

I have stayed here recently on my way to Mt Hutt. This place is great, quite big yet personal. Staff was very nice and helpfull with booking shuttles etc. They have a pool table which I liked, great selection of books to swap, huge kitchen and lounge area etc. Everything was very clean and nicely maintained.
