We stayed here for 2 nights on a road trip around NZ. The owners of the cottages were moving out however they still made us feel very welcome. On arrival we were up graded from the Old Dairy to the Shearers Quarters. The lovely self contained cottage was well equipped and plenty of room to relax. The breakfast that was... More

We stayed in the Shearers Quarters for two nights in July. A gorgeous, cozy self contained cottage awaited us. It was spacious and well heated, had a comfortable bed with quality linens. There was an ample breakfast hamper provided, including home made jams, butter, bread, eggs, and juice. There are other cottages of various shapes and sizes on the property... More

Perfect two night stay at St Leonard's. We were greeted by hosts Michele and Marcus who surprised us with an upgrade to The Stables cottage and a beautiful breakfast basket filled with bread, juice, milk, homemade scones and jams! The cottage was comfortable, cosy and looked out over the animal paddocks. The deer, chickens and cheeky sheep were great entertainment.... More

We absolutely loved our stay at St Leonards Vineyard Cottages. The owners were very friendly and helpful and instantly made us feel at home. We got upgraded to the Shearers Cottage where we woke up to the sun setting on the vineyards. The jams and eggs we had for breaky were delicious. My husband wanted to take the pot of... More

Michelle and Marcus are your hosts. What a warm and welcoming kiwi couple. They went well out of their way to make our stay as stress free as possible. Location wise it is excellent. Out of town but still close by. Lots to see and do in the area. The cottages are well separate from the main house. The views... More

We arrived days after Michelle and Marcus took over St. Leonards, and you can absolutely tell they are determined to provide a brilliant experience for all guests. We stayed in the stables, and right away we knew it was the right choice for us. The stables back up to the sheep, deer, chickens, and citrus trees. Being animal lovers, we... More

We stayed here on our first night on the South Island and were very well looked after. The new owners took great care to make sure our short stay was comfortable. They provided enough to make our own breakfast including eggs from their own chickens. Very relaxing!

January 2015 stayed two nights in The Cottage. When we arrived we noted that the property was for sale and you could tell the owners were tired and no longer cared about their guests. Our room wasn't ready and the gentleman owner would barely let us into the main house to use the restroom, check in and get his recommendations... More

Thank you for your comments. As the new owners of St Leonards Vineyard Cottages as of 15 April 2015 we to were disappointed to hear of your experience back in JANUARY 2015. The property and grounds are looking great and improvements to the cottages have already begun. Michele and Marcus More

Out of all the places we stayed during our two-week honeymoon in New Zealand, St. Leonard's Cottages might have been our favorite. We stayed in the stables and loved it. It was cozy and inviting. Perhaps because we live in a city where we were from, we enjoyed the rustic feel and felt totally at home. The cottages are self-catered... More

I stayed in Anna's cottage for a week. There was plenty of room and a nice covered porch. The hosts brought fresh eggs from their chickens each day--available only when they are laying! A highlight was the availability of mountain bikes for riding to the nearby wineries or just for exercise. They are in good shape and helmets/vests are also... More
