If you're looking for an upscale homestay / B+B, I doubt you could do much better anywhere than spending some time at Stonehaven. Surrounded by beautiful vineyards and immaculate gardens, the house, and bedroom we stayed in (king bed), was superb. John and Paulette made us (and our fellow guests) feel immediately at home and were exceptionally helpful in recommending... More

A lovely place to stay in the heart of the wineries. The welcome by John and Paulette was second to none and the food and wine was of 'Fine Dining' quality. There are only two rooms for guests, but both are very good. We would highly recommend staying here.

Stonehaven is a lovely house set in the heart of the Marlborough wine region. John and Paulette made the stay wonderful, and we were delighted to be able to spend the two nights with them in between touring the (unbelievably) numerous wineries! Rooms were very clean with lovely complementary touches, and we were given excellent ideas for sightseeing and wineries.... More

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in the Queen Pohutukawa Room and we just loved it. The location was picturesque and idyllic, our room was cosy and spotlessly clean with a modern ensuite, and John and Paulette were the perfect hosts and conversationalists. Breakfast was a feast with our choice of lots of cereal/muesli and homemade rhubarb compote,... More

The hosts, John and Paulette ensured our stay in Marlborough was unforgettable. Our room was very comfortable with many nice touches, usually associated with larger up market hotels. The breakfasts were outstanding, and first class evening meals were available if required. This home stay is ideally located for visiting the Marlborough vineyards. Take advantage of the knowledge of John and... More

From the minute we arrived at Stonehaven John and Paulette made us feel so welcome. From the very welcome cuppa and chocolate cake on arrival we settled in within minutes. What a beautiful home John and Paulette are willing to share with their guests. We stayed in the King size room with en suite. Beautifully decorated room with wonderful linen... More

We stayed for two nights on a recent tour of NZ and were glad to have slotted this tranquil haven into the middle of a fairly hectic schedule. The homestay is beautifully presented with lots of lovely touches (such as complimentary wee decanters of port and sherry and homemade shortbread in the room). The star of the show was Paulette...
