I stayed in a 5 bed dorm which was clean and comfortable. I had enough space for my backpack, although I'm not sure if a three level bunk bed is the best solution for making space. The street is not a main road so there's no traffic and it is quiet. It's a short walk to town and the grocery... More

We stayed in a double room situated above the garage (outside the main building with kitchen, dorm rooms and communal area). Our room was clean and tidy, there was a shared bathroom with the room opposite and an oil radiation heater in the room (we needed it as it did get a little cold). We didn't stay in the dorm... We visited with our 2 twin sons for 2 nights in the holidays, the room was clean and comfortable. One son was ill during the night and it was no effort the next day for staff to remake and clean up. Thank you. A reasonable price, very clean, lovely outside space and pretty. A nice walk into town, quite a... More

A bit of a walk from the bus stop but without backpacks it feels more central! Short distance to town and the Marlborough wineries. It felt homely and relaxed with clean, spacious rooms and the opportunity to sleep on one of the triple bunk beds! The kitchen and lounge suited the small but loved old house and led to a... More

Clean, reasonable price, the river out back makes the garden picturesque. Clean kitchen and lots of dvd choice in the lounge area. It was pretty quiet when we were there, but that may be due to the time of year. Loads of plug sockets in the rooms next to each bed!

We are a young couple and booked a private room in this hostel. The room was the largest private room I've ever been in, in a hostel. The bathrooms were well maintained and clean. The Wifi is extra, but that's every where in NZ (please consider changing this Grapevine to "stand out" and get with the times). They have a... More

We stayed a couple of nights in one of the (new?) double rooms above the detached garage. The room was spacious, clean and shared a bathroom with only one other double room. So far, so good. The main building holds the dorms and common areas. It's a old wooden house so very noisy. We had a glimpse of a couple... More

I got the the hostel, saw my room, sat down, and turned around and out the door. I'm not the best backpacker - I'm sure it was fine, but just not for me. No locks on the doors, very dirty room that was falling apart and flies everywhere (understandable about the flies). Staff was good, but I just didn't feel... More

This place is about 15-20mins from the bus drop off/isite. It's clean spacious and friendly. Rooms had lockers and shelves to store stuff. There is a lounge- tv and DVDs, kitchen, table outside overlooking the river. Free washing but buy your own powder elsewhere first. We had free canoe boats that we could borrow which was great!mcds, Burger King and... More

Lovely friendly welcome but not very clean.. Kitchen was super messy, bathrooms smelly and dirty, bed room was okay. Also limited communal areas inside. If the hostel is busy it gets rather crowded in the tv room which is the only place to relax inside (apart from a small dining room). Would try to stay somewhere else next time.
