The hotel was recommended by a friend, and was one of the nicest boutique hotels we have stayed in. The four posted bed was not only stunning but super comfy. We dined at the restaurant which had an amazing selection of local seafood (for my husband), not being a seafood lover I had the aged fillet of beef which was... More

My partner and I joined friends for dinner at Hotel d'Urville. The waiter was very professional. He made us feel very welcome and paid attention to detail. The scallops were delicious and our friends commented that their venison was even better than last time. The food was beautifully presented. The Turkish bread starter was terrific. The restaurant was full so... More

We visited Marlborough on 18th to 20th May and stayed at d'Urville. The location was fantastic being right in the centre of town and an easy walk to bars, etc. We dined in both nights and the food was excellent, particularly the venison! Wine list was great too. The room was nicely decorated, clean and tidy as you would expect.... More

Unfortunately I had an event to attend that coincided badly with both Mothers Day weekend and a local marathon so accommodation options were limited. The parking is dire (3 spots next to the hotel that are shared with other local businesses), alternatively park about 2 blocks away in the Countdown carpark and for this reason alone I would not stay... I am sorry our hotel did not meet your expectations but there are a number of points to cover. The weekend in question was extremely busy throughout Blenheim with a number of events on and we were fully booked both in rooms and our restaurant. We in fact have a total of eleven car parks at the side and rear... More

The hotel, which is located in a former bank, is listed in the 1000 places to stay. Located in the middle of Blenheim, parking space behind the hotel is limited but available. The rooms, all different decorated, are trying to match the art deco style. Sadly the comfort isn't the main focus as the old toilet, shutters not possible to... More

I note that your review this week is from a stay at our hotel more than six months earlier. There have been a number of items upgraded since that time as part of our ongoing maintenance programme. Each of our rooms is different in style and is carefully furnished to reflect it's theme. It is this feature which makes our... More

After reading the rave reviews about this hotel, we were looking forward to staying there. Unfortunately, the hotel (and staff) do not live up to the hype. And how it's a "bucket list" place is inexplicable. At check-in, the surly desk manager took us to our room, which was confirmed to be a king. We were taken to a queen... More

I must apologise for the less than satisfactory experience at our hotel which was caused by a number of coinciding problems. Unfortunately, your stay was in the middle of several days of a severe cold snap (minus 4 degrees overnight). The reservations staff had allocated you a queen bed in error and had heated the room to a comfortable level.... More

Hotel D’Urville is a charming boutique hotel in Blenheim. The building was formerly a bank and the hotel rooms now have the benefit of the high ceilings and thick walls. It’s quirky but fun to access one’s room through a vault door! Our king suite was cool, comfortable and bright. The four-poster bed was very comfortable and featured high quality... More

We stayed in the lovely boutique hotel for two nights and we're very impressed. Beautiful rooms, very comfy beds, great service where nothing was too much trouble (we asked for a bread knife and a butter knife so we could have home brought antipasto in our room which was promptly supplied and then cleaned and re-left in our room the... The rooms here are all themed. I loved mine (from the Far East). It was very clean (very!), large and comfortable. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. The restaurant lived up to its' reputation with excellent food, wines and service. I would definitely go back again! Highly recommended for anyone wanting something a little bit different to the norm.... More

I recently had a delightful stay in the lovely Hotel d'Urville and would recommend it to anyone wanting a hotel a little different to the norm. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The room spacious with everything you might need for a few nights away, although I would have loved a bath to soak in after a long day... More
