The proprietor and staff of the Hotel d'Urville went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. They helped us find tables at local restaurants when most were closed for the holidays. The Havana room was very attractive and comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the wine country!

We enjoyed our night in this boutique hotel. Our room was adequate with the slat bed up the steep stairs in a loft. The bed had sharp corners and hurt if you banged into it in the night. Toilet and shower is downstairs. Our meals in the restaurant were good. Food was tasty and well presented

I am not usually one to write reviews, however this experience at Hotel d’Urville was extremely disappointing. We felt like the $300 we paid was an inflated amount for what was on offer. We really wish we had stayed somewhere else and will not be back. The main things that let our stay down here were the lack of available... More

We stayed at this hotel in January 2106. We found it quaint and authentic and very central to all attractions. A break and a welcome change from stereotyped motels. Some might find the stairs a problem however if you can overcome this it is pleasant place to stay.

Our stay in Blenheim for two nights at the d'Urville was principally to facilitate trips to the wineries of Marlborough. We stayed in the d'Urville suite within the hotel which was beautifully decked out with nautical and historic items related to the French explorer d'Urville who charted much of the coast in the 1800's. (Room 3 ). The building is... More

We stayed here on our way back to the North Island, was mean't to stay two nights but left after the first night. Had prepaid/booked... Management refused to refund for the next night ($225) as apparently our concerns were not valid enough, and they had an excuse for everything... Our concerns were the paint peeling off the bathroom ceiling, nails... More

We had such a nice stay at his hotel. We had a long drive from Christchurch and were anxious about making our pickup for our wine tour. We arrived 8 minutes before our pickup, and three of them helped us check in, get to our room (which was very charming), and park the car. We were back downstairs with 2... More

After reading the three previous average reviews we were worried about our stay. However, Tony was kind enough to reassure us of the quality of hotel and he was right! If you are after a unique hotel full of character then you will be as impressed as we were. There is no cookie cut hotel room here they are all unique... More

Nice place- right in the centre of town. Impressively beautiful building with friendly professional staff. Room was spacious and quirky... Very clean and comfortable. The only negative was the bathroom as it was desperately indeed of an update. Too cramped to be functional- was big disappointment. Was fine for one night only

This is a reasonable hotel without being anything special. The manager Jeff, is wonderful and extremely helpful. It is quite good value for money but the location is pretty ordinary. It is actually on a shopping mall and our downstairs room felt like we had the passers by about to join us! I think I would try and stay in... More
