From the warm welcome to the delicious evening meal everything here is geared to excellent customer service. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The room was spacious with an adjacent lounge common to all upstairs rooms. Situated centrally with free parking this is a wonderful base to explore the region. Hospitality at its finest.

Our two night stay here was very restful and enjoyable. Staff were extremely accommodating and helpful and we were astonished at how quiet it was at night considering it's position in town. We stayed in the Retro room which was quirky and fun. The upstairs bedroom could be difficult for some, but we found it very sleep inducing and quiet.... More

We had the great pleasure of staying at d'Urville. We had 3 rooms and they were charming and spacious. The renovation is really interesting. Our dinner was superb with a fabulous wine list. Sorry we had only alloted one night. The next day's visit to Omaka air display is not to be missed. Thank you, Tony, for recommending it.

Hotel d'Urville, on many websites, including its own, has been categorized as a 'boutique hotel. As there is no official commonly agreed definition for this particular hotel concept, this categorization is perfectly acceptable. However, let us be crystal clear that Hotel d'Urville is, by no means, a 'luxury boutique hotel'. It falls short on 3 specific accounts: upscale luxury, facilities &... More

we had a lovely welcome and all staff were friendly and attentive. Room was tastefully decorated. Although the bathroom is small it is more than adequate with a good shower. We ate in the restaurant on two nights. Service was excellent and the food delicious. The first night we had the fish platter to share which was lovely but we... More

The building that houses this hotel was once a bank. It was very unique. However, other than when we arrived, we never saw anyone at the desk. There was a leak around the outside of the shower, and the bed was not very comfortable. Each room had a unique theme. The WiFi was not good. You could only occasionally connect.... More

Beautiful individually styled rooms in a lovely old bank building, very helpful staff and a great dining room; we had an excellent dinner and breakfast the following morning - very highly recommended.

Had a lovely 2 night stay at Hotel D'Urville. Beautiful building and very friendly and helpful staff. Helped organise us bikes to explore the wineries. Had a fantastic meal in their restaurant. Nice little bar out the back as well.

On the day of my wedding us girls spent the day getting ready here. The lunch spread they put on for us was very yummy and the service was top notch, very special. Later my new husband and I stayed the night before going on our honeymoon. Service and breakfast was perfect again. A lovely hotel.

This was the height of our visit to NZ. This former depository has been imaginatively and tastefully converted into a small but efficient hotel full of historical character. The hotel is run with imagination - whether you partake of the port left for guests or high standard of food served for dinner or breakfast. Our bedroom was spacious and well... More
