This was a recommendation from our B&B and we were unable to get in on the evening we visited, so booked for the next night. This is a fairly small restaurant catering mainly for the hotel residents. Our starters were salmon gravlax and smoked tuna with marinated mussels. The gravlax was slightly salty but was very nice. My husband' smoked... More

My husband and I stayed here three nights. We stayed in room #3 which we were told was the nicest room. It certainly was large. High ceilings and massive windows. The bathroom was small but functional and cute with an old porthole window in the door. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast included juices,... More

We stayed at the Hotel D'Urville for 3 nights in December. We were met upon arrival by the host who was very friendly and willing to give us any suggestions and help should we require it. We stayed in the New Zealand room, which we thought was really cute and quaint. We loved the 4-post bed and the decor. We... More

The host of the place we were staying in Blenheim recommended this hotel for our dinner and we weren't disappointed.I had the most beautifully cooked beef mignon and my wife had the white fish special which she loved.Nice atmosphere on the restaurant and Jetti, the restaurant manager was very attentive and personable.

We spent 2 nights here. The room was certainly boutique ghastly decor but the bed was comfortable enough. Bathroom bijou. The continental breakfast was minimal with tea and toast and cheese/ham that had definitely seen better days! Not a single crossiant in sight. The service matched the quality of the breakfast. If we had wanted to dine in their well renowned... More

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay at our hotel. Your travel agent in England has sent us a large number of guests over the years who have enjoyed our historic hotel. Obviously I would not agree with your description of the décor as "ghastly" and would invite readers to look at the room you stayed in, the... More

We spent two nights at The Hotel D'urville in Blenheim. What a great place. It is an old "Public Trust" building that has been beautifully transformed into a great boutique hotel. We were in the Raja room, room number 1. It is great. Nicely decorated and very stunning. The proprietor, Tony, is wonderful. When we checked in, we asked Tony... More

A small, quirky hotel and our stay was ruined by neighboring nightclub with live, outdoor rock band that played at top volume past 1 am, and drunken patrons who yelled outside our window until 4:30 am. Multiple calls to front desk were met with a promise to "handle it" but it didn't help. Find yourself somewhere else to stay in... More

I am sorry you saw the need to join Trip Advisor just to complain about the noise last Saturday night when you stayed with us. We have not experienced any noise problem here for some years. Unfortunately on the night of your stay a new bar some 150 metres away had a band outside in contravention of their licence. We... More

Check in was easy. Staff helpful and friendly. Central location a great bonus. Rooms are period (quirky) however functional and very soundproof. With aircon. Bed was large firm and very comfortable. Meals were fabulous. Clams, Mussels, Monkfish, Lamb All fabulous. Bathrooms are snug but great water pressure and hot water. Will definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel d'Urville and were treated well by the staff, It's very quiet, partially because Blenheim pretty much closes up after 1800. The hotel is not staffed overnight which was not an issue for us but might be for some. My wife thought we were the only ones in the building our first night which... More

A last minute decision saw us make a Labour Weekend escape to Blenheim and we were delighted to be guests at Hotel d'Urville. The owner-operator, Tony, made us most welcome and the charming Venus suite was comfortable and intriguingly decorated. We thoroughly enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant - great local food and wine - and appreciated the attentive... More
