We arrived bright and early yesterday as we were in Blenheim for the Wine & Food festival. We chose this hotel as it was close to town. Upon arrival we were told that we'd been "upgraded" to another hotel approximately a kilometre further out of town, which was no better than we were expecting when we booked the Raymar. No... More

We pulled into the Raymar........out of the ark even though they advertise as budget Staff disinterested, facilities limited, close to park so you can get some fresh air from the paper thin walls and ''activities'' Kitchen saved us some money but it is stuck in the 70's

30 of he 31 Motels are 4.5 star or higher. Raymar is in the 3 star bracket. That is why we are a lot cheaper than others. The pics above show a good tidy, affordable stay - that's my market position and I do a good job. At $99 per double, the per head rate is not much higher than... More

We booked for a night at this motel nearly 4 weeks ago, with email/phone confirmation. On arrival this evening at 8pm the manager (Dave), who we had spoken to when booking, had no record of the reservation. We showed him the email booking correspondence and he was completely uninterested. The complex was full, he offered no alternative, no suggestions, no... More

The emails show an enquiry, a quote and the requirement to provide credit card details to confirm - he never sent the card details - therefore no booking was confirmed. This person never stayed at Raymar - never saw the units and has no knowledge of our service or facility I was not uncaring - simply had no other rooms... More

Easy to book and find, right near to local park, not too far to walk into main centre of Blenheim. Good size room, would easily accomodate a 3rd person. Decent kitchenette in room plus a main kitchen avail to share as well. Good size bathroom, all in together. Owner really helpful in giving local info including special things on that... More

Very budget motel. Older style motel room.Clean and tidy though. Close to town. One night ok but would not stay longer. Walls paper thin.A little expensive at $95.Parking a little cramped when motel full. Keys were laid out for us on arrival but manager did appear.

Stayed at the Raymar for a night in early April 2013. Used Booking.com to book and was greeted by the manager and shown to the room. Room was clean and tidy. It backed onto the main road and was pretty quiet considering. It is a budget motel so if you are looking for a place to sleep and move on... More

We also booked in July 2012 for Easter 2013, received an email on the 18th March stating Raymar is no longer able to accommodate you for Easter. I rang and couldn't get a satisfactory answer as to why we were cancelled; their reply was "the public can cancel, so why can't I". We have minded Motels for 10 years and... More

This group of bookings was from a Car Club whose reputation preceeded them. I saw it as a potential problem and elected to give plenty of notice and declined them. Motels are not compelled to take whoever books - that's why they are called Guests and not Tenants. I also have a responsibility to other Motel Guests who would have... More

Well if you are felling in a good mood, you might come here. but when you do there will be no one to greet you, and you pick up the key to this 1970's place from the office if you can find it. I let the next three guests in myself after arrived . Don't want Internet unless you are... More

Many inaccuracies in this Reviewers review. Raymar is in the 3 star budget bracket. We advertise as 3 star bracket and do a good job at that level. People like this reviewer see only the price $ 95. No other Motel in Blenheim is that affordable. All the Units have been refurbished in the last two years but don't expect... More

This reviewer has never been to Raymar. Unforseen circumstances meant the booking had to be cancelled. 2 weeks warning and apologies were given. No Motel turns down a 3 day booking unless its unavoidable. Its what we are in business to do. Six booked Guests simply never showed for their stays this month and the rooms were wasted. Guests are... More
