Shut this place down. I am 50+, ok, I am not some boring old fart. But I am not sleeping in somebody's bedroom extension, with no soap or proper bathroom. For $110, I can get luxury in the North Island and respect to go with it. OK, parts of the Admirals look ok with motel type rooms. But, to stay... More

Very outdated, old fashioned rooms, but comfortable enough. Shower was so high pressure it was horrible! The hosts were lovely, but totally not worth the amount of money that we paid to stay there. Not close to anything apart from the gardens. Walls were very thin in the standard studios.

this was the worst motel we came across on our south island trip, we had to go up a stair case that had thread bare carpet, our room was off the landing as were several others.....fortunately we were the only ones there, as I dare say it would have been very noisy. The room was so small there was no... More

Four us spent 2 nights here in April, i must say we were very disappointed in our room it was very tired, we were out the back in a quiet area the room itself was big but very outdated and not cleaned to my standards, we were suposed to have a spa bathroom instead it was a disabled room. The... More

Our family of 6 stayed in a 2 bedroom unit for 2 nights in April. We got a discount on arrival, we just came in off the street. Our room was at the back of the complex, which was perfect - near the pool for the kids and very quiet and peaceful. The pool was a bit chilly however. We... More

The hosts were very accommodating of our very short notice walk in off the street style booking. From the outside the motel looks very tidy, modern and well kept. Inside provides a slightly different tale. The rooms although tidy and comfortable they were very dated and not sound proof - we heard our neighbours conversations. we stayed in room 3 and... More

My adult son and I stayed here while we came to the area for a friend's wedding. We stayed in a king studio which had ample space for the two of us to share a room without being on top of each other. The little kitchen was a bonus with an excellent shopping centre within walking distance of the motel.... More

Due to a broken down ferry we were late getting to the motel. We phoned the owner who immediately told us not to worry as he would be there until late, and would make sure we were able to book in. When we did arrive, we found a well presented set of rooms that had everything we needed. Unfortunately we... More

Perhaps Ive been spoiled, but this lodge left me feeling a bit back in the '90's. The unit was roomy but dated. Everything I needed was supplied (although only champagne flutes to drink my good Marlborough Sauvy from). Slightly out of town centre so transport required. If your on a strict accommodation budget then absolutely fine.

For 3 nights the average motel can be tiresome but this one was excellent. Very spacious, large bed, comfy couch and a million tv channels. the only drawback is the quite busy main route location into Blenheim but sometimes we can't tick every box. I would certainly stay here again.
