After a long flight and a drive from Christchurch, the vacancy sign at the end of a long road was a very welcome sight. A warm, friendly welcome from the owners. $110 for a very average room, next to quite a noisy road. There's plenty of accommodation options along the road at Hanmer Springs, but if you're just too tired... More

Stayed in this lovely little motel for 2 nights. Absolutely wonderful. Great service and lovely proprietors. Great continental breakfast - couldnt eat it all. Very helpful and couldnt do enough for you. Thoroughly recommend to anyone contemplating staying in the area. Very close to Hanmer Springs, just a 25 minute drive.

If you don't want to stop at Hanmer Springs which is very touristy and expensive, then we can highly recommend this motel at Culverden. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Our unit was clean and very comfortable and we sat and had breakfast outside on the garden table. There are not many places to stay along this road but... More
