We decided to stay at City Bed and Breakfast based on the reviews on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed. The place was beautiful and tasteful yet warm and homey. Dean's welcome was wonderful. We spent our first hours in Wellington discussing Australian and New Zealand politics over well chosen wine and nibblies. Calvin was, of course, the highlight and we... more

We had a fantastic stay. We were made to feel like guests staying at a friend's house rather than strangers in a hotel. This was our first stay at a Bed and Breakfast, and we made sure to book at others around NZ during our stay, based on the good experience we had here. Stayed there for 3 nights for... more

Jeff and Dean were the perfect hosts. A very comfortable place to stay with careful attention to detail. An advantage was safely garaging the car and not paying $25 per night to do so. Wellington was easily accessed on foot though it was a bit of a grunt up the hill but a beautiful spot. The walk up to the... more

Good central location but up a hill into a very quiet residential area.. Close to good restaurants (strongly recommend Ambeli's), museums etc. Accommodation good. Self-service continental breakfast (cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit...). Friendly hosts, Jeff and Dean, one of whom on a very early Sunday morning insisted on leading us across town to the car ferry terminal. more

It felt like home staying with Dean & Jeff. My partner and I only had a 2 nt stay in the middle of March and thoroughly enjoyed our hosts, the central location and their gracious company on an enduringly delightful early morning. Wellington has very proud adopted sons. We share your enthusium. And Congratulations Mates!! more

The accommodations were excellent. My hosts made me feel and home, and that is exactly the way I felt during my too brief two night stay. If I am fortunate enough to return to Wellington, I sincerely hope "my" room will be available and ready for me. Edward (Maryland, USA) more

Couldn't meet more lovely people, who were totally gracious in sharing their home. We weren't sure of our arrival time, and when I called Dean he called me back and told me not to worry, he left the key in an envelope on the door. As it turned out, we did arrive when Dean and Jeff were home, and they... more
