We stayed here overnight prior to getting the ferry to the South Island. The hotel is situated in Johnsonville about 10km North of Wellington so we never saw the capital. The hotel is hidden up a side street so easily missed (off State Highway 1, left at the roundabout then first left). The staff were all very friendly and helpful,... More

Very nice and clean hotel. The staff recommended a very good restaurant close by. Convenient to shops and restaurants. Wish we had stayed a little closer to downtown Wellington, but this is a great place to stay just outside the city.

This was a return stay, since I found the Best Western so suitable last time. For an overnight stay before taking the vehicle ferry it's ideal. There's good free parking, it's conveniently close to the city, but you can avoid central city traffic if you want, and the suburban train station is close by. The room was comfortable with all... We stayed in a Ohariu Standard 1-Bedroom Suite which was perfect for the three of us. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were welcoming helpful and friendly. The location was great for what we needed, shops with in walking distance every thing you would need with in a 3 minute walk. We would stay again.

We have just checked in to the 2 bedroom apartment at Best Western Wellington after a long 6 hour drive from The Bay of Plenty. As we walked into the apartment we were met with the overwhelming smell of urine. We notified the front desk and asked if we could please be moved, only to be told "you need to... More

Dear THJ852, We are most surprised to receive this review. We do remember you checking in and asking to be moved to another room as you felt the first room had an unpleasant odour. We were happy to do this and we thought this was a satisfactory outcome for you so we are disappointed to get this feedback. We did... More

Spacious rooms, with contemporary furnishings, kitchenettes, and "exceptionally" clean! Although a little tucked away there are a multitude of takeaway restaurants, supermarket, shopping mall and a couple of "pubs" within walking distance. Friendly efficient staff, and breakfast is delivered to your room.

The Best Western is located in a suburb of Wellington called Johnsonville. It is tucked away on a side street, just off the main road. The area has the feel of a mixed commercial and working class neighborhood. The main street features a large grocery store, a couple of restaurants, and a slew of fast food joints, including American imports... More

We stopped at the Best Western Wellington Hotel the night before travelling to the South Island on the Inter Islander ferry. The rooms were large and very comfortable. They were a pleasure to stay in, and very clean. The staff were helpful, and free Internet was available. Also, car parking was free, and available . Lots of good cafes and... More

This is a nice hotel outside of central Wellington. Johnsonville is a suburb with shops and plenty of places to eat. Also got the train into central Wellington which was cheap and easy. Off street parking under the hotel was good, rooms were clean and spacious if not the most modern. Very convenient for the ferry terminal
