Stayed here for a business conference and overall I was quite satisfied. I was told to get a harbour view, I don't know why - there's a building in the way. I have seen much better harbour views, this one ain't that spectacular. The hotel is kind of "meh" - it's nice but not spectacular. The service though was amazing.... More

My previous review on the rydges cspeaks for itself. In response to that, the Front Office Manager invited me to stay again hoping that the hotel could put on a better performance, which it did. There were great touches of exceptional customer service. The room was lovely and clean with a great harbour view. The only thing requiring attention was... More

Rydges is a great hotel- 2 min drive from the fairy crossing to South Island. Good service, decent lap pool. Great room and very local in Wellington. Hot water kettle and fridge in room, good night sleep in decent beds.

I stayed two nights at the Rydges. My room was cold, noisy and I was disturbed during the night by cars being moved in the garage (3rd floor). The options were to leave an extremely noisy heating unit on during the night or freeze. Was very disappointed. Only advice - ask for a room not on the 4th floor (noise).... More

I stayed one night. Great location - but not so much when trying to get my taxi to park close to the hotel. Traffic very congested. I loved my room! Very comfortable. The restaurant food was AMAZING!!! If you're going to go for dinner - try the sticky pork ribs or the pork belly?! WOW! And although you need to... More

We stayed at this hotel from 21st Aug for two nights. Rooms are ok. Well maintained. Walkable distance from the wharf and near by shopping area. Te Papa museum is also at a 10 min walk. (If you are up for it) . we took the airport bus to reach this hotel . That's the best and economical option. Though... More

First things first, this hotel is right in the middle of Wellington with a very good connection to the Interislander Ferry. My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights and used it as a base to check out Wellington and the Hutt region. The room was large enough, but having two large suitecases with us made it a little... More

A very nice hotel in a great location! This was my first time at the Rydges, though I have stayed in the area before and knew that I liked it (plus it was close to my meetings). I arrived around 3:30pm and was checked in quickly by the friendly front desk staff, and guided to my 15th floor room overlooking... More

Was there for 3 night. Each night there was no hot water past 10pm. Are you expecting only families? Business travelers don't always get to be back at 6pm to shower! On the second day after coming in from overseas and jet lagged, I left the room at 2pm and hung the 'please make up room' sign, and to my... More

We spent one night in a corner suite at this hotel last week. Sure, it was cold in Wellington, but surely our room should have been warm! It was like trying to sleep in a refrigerator! Cannot believe that this hotel, claiming to be four star, has very noisy heat pumps trying to warm a room. They were totally ineffective... More
