We were four people (2 couples) and took two rooms overnight. The place was cozy and quiet and spotlessly clean. The "booklover" hostess Jane Tolerton was very gracious, very helpful and a joy to speak with. more

I stayed at Booklovers B&B in mid-September for some meetings I had in Wellington. I found it easy to access by Bus and could walk down to my meetings on Manners St in 15 minutes. The room was clean, well-appointed, and spacious with a place to sit and work on my computer using the house free wireless network. The innkeeper,... more

This B&B is located in an older "grand" Victorian house in a neighborhood that has seen better days. Having said that, we found the accommodation to be quite comfortable. Our room faced the street and it had a nice queen-sized bed and a window seat. Tea and coffee-making set ups were in the room. We were not really bothered by... more

This place is right up your alley if you love to be surrounded by books of course but also the hosts Jane and her lovely husband made it very comfy and accommodating. I arrived really early and they were kind enough to let me wash up and set my bags down as I unwound from my long flight. The bus... more

Lots of books, spacious & clean rooms, good breakfast, cultured conversation, and a blazingly fast Internet connection (both wireless & stationary PC). What more can you ask for? Ah yes, I forgot: Convenient location (10 minutes walk into town or bus #2 right in front of the house), quiet place (I was disturbed only by the high winds that rocked... more

I've only just signed up to Trip Advisor, but had to write about our 2007 experience at this wonderful B&B in response to the review below. We arrived in Wellington on Christmas Eve. When we asked where we might eat on Christmas Day, Jane Tolerton invited us, sight unseen, to her own Christmas dinner. She sat and entertained us, saw... more

We stayed 2 nights at Booklovers B&B at the end of January and it proved to be exactly as we had imagined it - a large "old" house, very comfortable, faintly dusty, with shelves and piles of books everywhere and a friendly, if slightly scatty landlady! We had the downstairs ensuite bedroom, which was very large and well provisioned. Plenty... more
