My husband and I stayed at Booklovers while we were in New Zealand for our honeymoon (in July 2013). Jane was a gracious, knowledgeable, and friendly host and the house itself was comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was always delicious, and Jane was kind enough to cook us breakfast even though she was heading out to work on a couple... More

My room was welcoming, the bed was comfy and the breakfast was great. Conversation around tables in the dining room was interesting and Jane helped point us in the right directions depending on our interests. I'd wanted to stay here previously, but it was fully booked. I'm glad I got a window of opportunity and will stay again. Getting here... More

We arrived from the South Island on the Interislander ferry and stayed one night, after spending a night at another B&B in town first. Jane was a very gracious host, but as others say, sometimes a bit disorganised indeed, this added to the atmosphere of the booklovers B&B. She gave us good tips (where to find Hobbit film locations), advised... More

This B & B was probably the most eccentric in which I have stayed. It truly is full of books. Sometimes you have to move some to sit down. It appears to be total chaos. Jane, the hostess, is a published author. She was interesting, very helpful, and her breakfasts were delicious. The round breakfast table was conducive to visiting... More

We arrived late at night to a warm and inviting room. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and the bathroom grand and beautiful. Done toiletries, tea and coffee were provided and a selection of books was on hand. The heated mattresses were fabulous! Jane was very flexible the next day about breakfast which I have to say was delicious! The main... More

We loved staying here. Jane is an interesting host and engages one in informed discussion about things New Zealand. The house has books in every nook and cranny and on all available horizontal surfaces. This gives a slightly shambolic atmosphere but this all adds to the character of the place. We enjoyed meeting other guests at the communal breakfast table.... More

After having toured the south island, Wellington was a bit of a shock so we were grateful for warm welcome from Jane and her Bed and Breakfast next to the Mt Victoria park. From here we could walk in the park, enjoy the great restaurants nearby but and still be only 15min walk from the main shopping streets of center... More

This is an amazing place whose owner Jane is an excellent host and very interesting to talk to. She is a writer and everywhere there are books for guests to read and even some to take away! The nice touches such as tea on arrival and beer in the guests' fridge make this a very homely and lovely place to... More

Great location in a lovely part of town and a nice walk into the heart of Wellington for the local attractions / restaurants . The host Jane was lovely and was very welcoming and I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone .

A really nice place to stay, enjoying an excellent breakfast. But also the lady of the house, Jane Tolerton, is a very interesting person and very nice to have a conversation with. Laying at the edge of Wellington the place is very good for making visits to several places in Wellington, the bus stop is in front of the house.
