Nice clean friendly backpackers, comfy beds and a great vibe, very central to everything. Ave around $30 a night with break breakfast and free snack meal can't go wrong really. Does charge for internet but the street has free wifi, has the best showers ever and TV room showing films whenever you want Met some kl people here

The good thing about this hostel is that it's very central and you can walk to almost anywhere easily. The rooms I stayed in were en suites and the beds were pretty comfortable. They also have pretty decent wi-fi (it's Global Gossip so $4 for 24 hours). It's pretty fast considering how many people are in the hostel. The bad... More

Nomads Captial was a nice hostel, but there were a few things that didn't make it stand out for me. The positives were things like the free breakfast/dinner. Really nice. However, the kitchen is so small compared to the amount of people staying there, it took me about 15 minutes to wait until a frying pan was free for me... More

When I visited towards the end of February Wellington was busy with various things and the international cricket so opted to only stay 2 nights and get on the ferry to South Island, which shaped my choices as to which hostel to use. As this one is very central and very handy for Te Papa and the harbourside as well... More

Stayed in a 5-bed dorm with an ensuite. Room, bathroom and bedding was very clean. The communal areas were great, although the kitchen could have been a bit bigger for the amount of people staying there. Our room was quite noisy (from the bar next door) but with ear plugs it was fine! We enjoyed the free pancakes for breakfast... More

Can honestly say the worst place I have stayed in! I was in a ten bed dorm with not near enough ventilation for any human being! Inhumane conditions is the only way to describe it! I was awake all night finally at 5 am after tossing and turning all night as the heat was unbearable I decided to get up... More

We booked into this place for 3 nights on our trip around New Zealand. We had made the booking in advance as the cricket world cup was on so we knew it would be busy. When we arrived at the reception our booking had been changed by a staff member and we no longer had a booking. The staff member... More

I seem to have some very different standards for hostels after reading some of these reviews... What I need when I travel, in an ideal world, is a bed. Hostel dorms are cheap as sin. If you aren't prepared to share the space or make some sacrifices to your comfort zone, I strongly suggest a motel. My gal and I... More

The room us very clean and basic. The en suite has no plug in the sink. No movable items such as glasses etc. The towels have not been refreshed as promissed. The Sky TV as advertised is not connected. I have reported this to the reception who said it does not have sky Tv. Only to be corrected by the... More
