We got a deal to stay 3 nights of the price of two so we went for it. Overall a good and clean hotel, just a little bit dated. They could do with keeping the gym/sauna/pool in better shape... The sauna stunk so much that it wasn't possible to stay over 10 secs in there... more

Went here the first time on a bundled deal with Air Nz, room was a small but ok size, bathroom was okish, was clean but seriously outdated. Good location, 5-10 walk to most of central wellington, $30 taxi fare from the airport. 2nd stay was for a family members wedding, we booked here due to a cheap deal. We were... more

I stayed here for 2 nights. The room was jaded and not particularly clean. The bin in the bathroom was filthy and hadn't been emptied. They have tried to modernise by having modern furniture but it needs a complete make over. I went for breakfast on one morning and went up to get something else from the buffet; when I... more

Went with a friend for a shopping weekend and wanted a hotel that was reasonably priced and within good walking distance of the shops, Te Papa etc. No sofa in our studio unit but then again we weren't there to sit in our units. Was clean and tidy, staff were very helpful advising us best way to get to destinations.... more

Dear DebsNZ Thank you for your recent post, it is always great to receive feedback and I have forwarded yours onto all the team here at Mercure Wellington Willis Street. Due to the layout of some of our rooms it is not feasible to have a sofa chair in the room. Wellington is an easy place to get around and...

My partner and I were searching the Wotif.com website for a great hotel deal for our Wellington trip and came across a good one for Mecure on Willis St. I checked out the reviews on this website and found them quite harsh but thought we'd make up our own minds as you never know what other people's standards are. When... more

what a huge dissapointment - I had the WORST room - 609 - right next to the world's loudest lift shaft. demanded to be moved to a new room, but they couldn't put me in an equivalent room, so stayed in a tiny single room. they did give a free breakfast though. single room pointed directly south into the wind... more

We bought the "Monet Package" and what a great idea. It included double room, buffet breakfast for 2 and 2 general admission tickets to the Monet exhibition. This was such a bonus! We avoided queues of up to 1 1/2 hours to purchase tickets and were able to walk straight into the exhibition. The staff were very friendly and helpful.... more

We stayed in room 419, the door nearly hit the bed when we walked in! Not much room at all, extremely basic, no hair dryer. Wallpaper bubbling off the walls, a big rip in the middle of the curtains, very old bathroom, paint peeling off window frames, carpet stained . . . not worth the price at all. more

I had the worst experience when staying at this hotel, the rooms were filthy, the bed was stained and the location was terrible. I had to be moved three times due to the rooms being dirty. The walls were incredibly thin, which meant I couldn't sleep because I could hear the doors opening and closing in the hallway and also... more
