The best thing about the hotel are the rooms. They are light. modern and clean. We stayed in a superior studio which had a 2 doubles in a bedroom of the living area. The room was a cros between an apartment and had self cateing cooking and dining facilities. The view from the room was of the motorway and my... more
We spent our 21st anniversary here at the end of a New Zealand trip. They upgraded our standard room to a premium suite (I think because the hotel was full--we didn't ask). WOW! It was gorgeous. Lovely park view (the views on the other side are lousy); fabulous pillows, comfortable king-sized bed, kitchen with everything (including dishwasher), dvd player. Everything... more
Came to Wellington from the US for a three day business trip. Hotel is very clean and quiet with a very comfortable bed and nice pillows. The gym is small but good. Only minor complaint is the air conditioner which is fussy and was hard to set. The staff was very nice. more
It took us a bit of doing the Wellington Polka to find our way around town to the Bolton. There are some steep hillsides that do not accommodate easy access so streets don't always continue in the way that you assume. Once we arrived, however, we found the staff to be very welcoming. We needed to gas and return our... more

No seaview at all. The hotel foyer is very small and lacks personality. The reception team were very limited with their knowledge and when we asked... more
We had always stayed in the Intercontinental Hotel but last time we were in Wellington we felt that the service had declined and we wanted a bit more space. I found The Bolton Hotel over the net which described itself as an apartment-style hotel - we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is situated on The Terrace which was very... more
Absolutely fantastic, stayed here on several occassions whilst travelling to Wellington and loved it each time. Food amazing although a bit pricey, room service great. Pool/gym facilities great. Rooms very spacious with all you need really for a relaxing stay. more
Wow, what a lucky find. This hotel was undergoing renovations and had deep discounts. We booked a 2 bedroom unit that was like a small luxury apartment but at the price you'd pay for a nice motel rather than a luxury boutique hotel which this hotel certainly is. The staff are ok, nothing special as in don't go out of... more
My partner and I booked a Premier Studio Room for a weekend back from Edinburgh on the Bolton website and found the pictures on the site very accurate. The room was fantastic, large bathroom, cooking facilities, huge bed and really nice new decor. As former local residents we chose not to have the breakfast from the buffet as it is... more
