The location is quite but close to everything + our room looked onto the old cemetery . The hotel even has 2 robes , instead of the 1 you normally get in other hotels . Breakfast is simple but very tasty with NZ local produce . I usually prefer hotel staff to be more experienced as most were in there... More

We stayed for 3 nights in a one bedroom apartment. The Hotel's location is good being at the Beehive end of The Terrace area. The apartment was well appointed with everything you could possibly need for a short stay. We arrived at 3pm but were told our room was not ready for another half an hour. We were fine with... More

The Bolton is a charming, intimate hotel -not too big; not too small. The 2 bedroom; 2 bath suites are perfect. My only disappointment is that the previous head chef has left and the menu has lost a bit of pizazz. More

Stayed here with my gf for a special occasion. Room was huge, and extremely clean. Comfy bed and huge bathroom. Ordered roomservice. Best steak Ive ever eaten. The ribeye is a must have, with the blue butter! Would stay just to have the steak again! Thanks Bolton staff, was a great night. More

For the feeling of being at home with such a caring and professional staff, I highly recommend the Hotel Bolton in Wellington. I might add too, their restaurant for breakfast for offers some of the finest selections on its breakfast buffet. It is a great value. We had a suite for 3 for a couple of nights in January 2012 and everything was excellent including the concierge service, breakfast etc. There were renovations going on in the restaurant but they did not interfere with the breakfast which was freshly cooked and we enjoyed very much. More

We stayed for a week at the Bolton with two small children and found the one bedroom apartment to be lovely, modern and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The distance to all Wellington attractions was manageable on foot or by bus. We found the walk back to the hotel from the Botanic Gardens really great! More

We had a lovely 2 night stay on the 8th floor of this hotel. The room was fabulous as in very modern, pristinely clean and a huge as new bathroom. The kitchen was of a a very high quality and had every convenience which is rare with hotels that often just have tea/coffee facilities. We were disappointed with one thing... More

I stay at the Bolton a lot both in business and with family. Probably steayed at least 20 times by now. What the Bolton needs is consistency. I have had great experiences at The Bolton, but also some of the worst mess ups and lack of service I have ever had- with serious concsequences way over and above the usual... More
