We spent three nights here and were impressed that Wellington City could provide this area so close to the CBD, an easy walk along a tidy waterfront to Te Papa. Granted it is basically a car park but it does have private showers and toilets which are not open to the general public. The day we arrived was wet and... More

Noisy, expensive and average facilities. But where else can you sleep in a campervan in the centre of a city. We had booked the day before, which was just as well as the place was full by evening. We had a nice day in the city but sleep was disturbed by traffic, alarms and fireworks at 1am! As the location... More

Your only real option if you want to park your campervan in downtown. The location is very good. You can walk the entire city from here. The bathroom facilities are also in good shape. That is all this place has going for it though. We originally planned to stay multiple nights but left after one. This was unfortunate as we... More

Great idea for travellers catching early interisland ferry very basic amenities. Which suit the purpose of which I assume it was built. Its only a short walk along the harbour to food stores. Took the kids to the Mcdonalds store in town where we found pigeons flying around and pigeon faeces on the floors and tables and the rubbish bins over... More

We're a family with older children (15 and 17). Yes - it's a carpark at the edge of the CBD. BUT - you're walking distance to Te papa (the Museum of NZ), walking distance to the waterfront restaurants (if you're feeling a bit flash) or walking distance to some very nice cheap eateries, walking distance to Cuba St (Wellington's Soho... We travelled around New Zealand in a campervan for 3 weeks and stayed at this campsite for 1 night. It literally is just a carpark on the side of the road with power available for campervans. There are 4 showers and 4 toilets and thats it. There does not seem to be any other campervan sites in the city so... More

The location of this campsite is perfect. The whole city is within walking distance. The staff is friendly and helpfull. The toilets and showers are not very clean. There is no wifi. So for a few dans very nice, but don't expect a real holiday campground.

We were crossing to Picton early next day, so booked here for the night, it's as explained somewhere to park your Motorhome for convenience to the Ferry, yes it was noisy with the highway behind us, but we found the showers clean, it does explain when you check that there are no laundry facility's, we didn't care just needed somewhere... This facility shows that Wellington welcomes visitors, particularly those who are travelling and touring the country. It is an excellent idea to accommodate motorhomes in the heart of the city and provide the basic facilities - power, fresh water, private toilets (2), several private and spacious shower/toilet rooms including one that is disabled accessible. Bookings can be made online and... More

If you're expecting a holiday park don't stop here. It is ideal if you are: a. going to a show, b. going to a major sporting event c.wanting to see Wellington's attractions, d. catching a ferry early in the morning. Ten minutes to the stadium, 15 to 20 minutes to the theatres, 15 to Te Papa, 5 minutes to bus... More
