Stayed here for two nights and had to sleep with jumpers on both nights. Condensation had caused mould in the rooms and some fixtures and fittings were missing. Definitely couldn't have stayed any longer. There was a constant draught due to old windows. Not great value for money but location is good. But the buffet dinner in the James Cook... More

Either I got very lucky or there has been a major change at Quest on the terrace compared to other reviews. My room was large, spotlessly clean (and kept clean), furnishings were very comfortable yet attractive and new, and the convenience of the downtown location plus having a kitchenette, washer/dryer saved me a lot of time and money. I also... More

My experience was similar to recent reviews...all in all a poor choice. We had a 2 bedroom apartment - it was in need of a good clean, the daily service was poor, the fixtures and fittings in need of maintenance; the bedrooms small, the 2nd without any ventilation; the noise from the Expressway was loud and disconcerting even in the... Nothing like the description or pictures. 2nd bedroom 7' x 9' no ventilation. 1st bed Not much bigger. Good view of the motorway and long term scaffolding, but windows so filthy it didn't matter. Choose somewhere else next time. Luckily wellington city and people are wonderful and well worth staying for!

Very overpriced ($300) for poor service, out of date information on restaurants and chargeback of dinners, scaffolding & motorway for a view, rubbish still in bin, bits of wall plaster on the carpet & lifts that often don't work. Give it a miss and choose a better option!

Not good value for money. The window in the lounge area had a big crack through the middle, there was rubbish left in the bin, the table was sticky and we had trouble getting to sleep because of the noise of people talking outside as well as the rattling windows. The reason why I am giving a rating of 3... More

We prebooked through Booking.com and on our way read some reviews when I joined this site. Thought we had made a mistake.....but. Reception area is quite basic and staff did their job well enough. The walk up from the car park to the ground floor lifts was not too easy with narrow stairs. The room was well appointed and clean.... More

Location good. But rooms have poor ventilation and not air con, goodness knows how anyone can stay here when it is warm weather. Got no sleep due to traffic and rubbish collection noise throughout the night. Staff helpful but overall place was tired and overpriced I am sure there is better around for the money.

The Quest is in an excellent location, central to everything and only a few minutes walk into town We were there for a girls weekend and when we arrived the beds hadn't been broken into singles as we had asked for. We rung housekeeping and they came up and fixed this, we also asked for the blown lightbulbs to be... More
