It has been my home for almost a year in Wellington! Cheap, in the middle of town. People are great, good environment, friendly staff: everytime i needed something, they helped me. I recommend this place, if you are travelling it is the best option to stay for a few months. Better than a average hostel.

St George isn't a hostel/hotel designed for travellers only staying for a few days/weeks. There's a minimum stay policy as it's very much aimed at those staying in Wellington for medium-long term. It does this extremely well! I stayed there for approx 12 months so had a good year round experience of what the place is like. It's right in... More

I had a great stay at HSG when I was exploring the option of moving back from the US to live in NZ. It's in a great location in the heart of Wellington's CBD, and the staff and other guests--most of them in NZ for working holidays--were welcoming and friendly. There's a big communal kitchen and lounge, where they hold... More

I stayed at Hotel St. George for about 3 months while doing a working holiday in NZ and traveling around. I loved the fact that it was really quiet - I never heard noises through the walls and the neighbors were really courteous. The only noise came from outside - since the location is so amazing and all the bars/nightlife... More

Nice place to live in, and an amazing and helpful staff! The kitchen's a great place to meet new people and the location of the hotel, in the heart of Wellington, is perfect! There's a laundry room with security cam so nobody will try to steak your stuff (same in the kitchen) fully equiped. I've spent 5 months there and... More

We recently hired Hotel St George as a meeting space for a small seminar we were hosting. We couldn't have been happier with the space and facilities. Everything worked first time, the kitchen space was clean and tidy and on a cold blustery day the room was warm and cosy. Thanks very much for having us - we'll be back!
