Picked the Richmond Guest House by accident & by virtue of location. Relatively close to Te Papa & the National Memorial Park, there are exhibitions at both I wanted to see. The Richmond is within comfortable walking distance to Courtney Place for entertainment & dining. Close to several bus routes to get to Lambton Quay. Richmond Guest House is an... More

We travel to Wellington regularly and thought we'd try the Richmond Guest House this time, but we will never stay there again as the owner was hostile and rude to us on every encounter. He seemed to take offence to us when we arrived, which we found inexplicable. Later on he got very angry about us having farewells with our... More

My friend and I stayed here for one night during our road trip in New Zealand. We booked our room through a travel website (Agoda). Our room has a queen size bed and it was very comfortable. I definitely will come back here when I visit Wellington in the future. Thanks!

A no frills hotel but it is beautifully decorated, bathrooms are spacious with contemporary fixtures which is isn't always the case in a budget hotel, clean comfy and good value and close to the down town Wellington, Defiantly worth a return visit

We enjoyed our stay at Richmond guest house. The room was clean and comfortable, the complimentary continental breakfast provides a large range of breakfast cereals, fruit juice, toast, tea or coffee to set you up for the day. It is well located with an easy walk to central Wellington or a bus nearby. Parking is available outside the door (free)... More

Decor wise this establishment will take you back to the late 70's, early 80's - and if you are not too picky you might find it amusing (as we did). Our room was at the budget end of the spectrum, and therefore we werent expecting everything to be up to date - overall, the room was clean even if the... More
