I did not mind the rooms, they were clean and spacious, a little outdated but ok. I did mind the manager who was rather rude, unwelcoming and kept making sarcastic comments about everything. It felt like it was a school dormitory - the manager kept being sarcastic about keeping the doors closed, walking quietly on the outside and inside areas!... More

This guest house is given a very personal touch by its owner who will greet you when you arrive and is present to chat to his guests during breakfast. The first floor room that we had was clean, well furnished and well heated. This bed and breakfast represents excellent value for money and is well situated at around 10 mins... More

If you make it to Wellington, New Zealand find your way to the Richmond Guest House. It is a 15 minute ride on the Valley Flyer bus ($9 NZ) which will drop you off two blocks from your destination - a walk along Brougham Street where you'll see the green sign identifying your place to stay. Ring the bell and... More

Much like the other reviews this hotel is exactly what you pay for. Cheaper than other hotels in the same area we decided to stay here as we were on a budget. We found john to be odd, quirky and inappropriate for a hotelier. The rooms were old and creepy with only a small electric heater with no comforts you... More

Hi Dani Well what I want to know is why did you come to a little 2 star bed and breakfast at all , reading your reviews you have obviously stayed at some nice hotels and motels 4 stars etc and you gave them all good reviews so then you come down in price and write this rather personal review... We didn't like the fact that if you don't wake early your breakfast "allocation" is gone! Tourists are not soldiers! the host is in need to understand some basic Customer services to say the least. The Beds were saggy and not comfortable. In need of some improvements in the lounge area .we end up cutting short our stay there and... More

While I agree with some of the comments made about Richmond Guest House-hang in there- John is a very kind man! We stayed there for 6 nights recently. We were a little taken aback the first day as John was a bit curt with us as he told us a few do's and don'ts. He then offered to make us... More

I am little surprised at couple reviewers... For us this was a great place to stay in Wellington whether decent accomodation is hard to find. Solo or with friends. We had such a good time at this place that we altered our itinearary so we can stay in Wellington few more days. We mostly hung out at the space either... More

Stayed here again a few days ago after a long break not visiting Wellington and it was like coming home. There have been a lot of renovations completed since my last visit and they are entirely appropriate for a Victorian house and enhance the stay. John hasn't changed at all. Still the same welcome and cup of tea on arrival... More

This Guest House does what it says in the advert. Its clean, reasonably priced and well situated for much of Wellington. It is a Victorian house so is not going to be modern but none the worse for that. I had an excellent night's sleep, the breakfast was as promised - continental. John was welcoming, allowed us to leave our... More
