We stopped here with our campervan to stay the night before catching the interisland ferry. At check-in we found a sign directing us to an amenities block where a lady (presumably the owner) was painting. She said to just find a site and come fix up the bill later. We found a site and hooked up to the power and my girlfriend went to have a shower. I went to do a load of washing only to find that the only amenities block in operation had all machines in use and a line-up for them. All other advertised amentites were out of order in the block being painted. Since we hadn't been given an opportunity to pay, we left and drove to another place closer to Wellington. Lesson: make sure all the amenities are in working order before paying! more
