Most people travelling in NZ need to use the inter islander ferry, particularly if one is in a motor home. There are not a lot of choices in Wellington if you want to have a look around the city and find a spot close to the ferry. The best i could find was the Capital Gateway Motor Inn. By night... more

This is a modern, clean property within close distance to the Wellington ferries. Nice restaurant attached. It was wonderful to walk into the room after a rainy day drive. Very nice ambience. more

The motel is far from city center but not too far from ferry station. It is an ideal for those who would go for the ferry in the morning. I like in a double room suite. The room has two floors. There are one big bed in first floor and 4 single beds bed in second floor. You may require... more

We spent two nights in the Capital Gateway before sailing to the South Island. Found it quite inpersonal with very little contact from the owners - some may like this however. The room was on two storeys with two double beds - one on each. Upstairs had a large bath and both storeys had a TV. Very spacious generally but... more
