Booked by iSite without any warning. This hostel is the worst accommodation in New Zealand! Every room smells really bad. Do a favour to your self and find anything else... don't do the same mistake as we did

Horrible hostel! Dirty and not welcoming at all! You can hear all the street noise and being there on a Saturday evening, it was simply awful as young people spent their evening drinking and vomiting. Of course nothing has been cleaning, at least not until 6am... Beside this it's far from the rail station where you arrive per bus and... More

This place is the worse building I have ever entered. Toilets, showers, lights not working. Absolutely disgusting, I would recommend that this place be condemned and I would say this would not pass Earthquake standards nor minimum hygiene standards. The building was dirty, leaking, falling apart and just plain gross. Vomit left on the bathroom floor for days. Washing machines... More

Rooms are very small and it is super hot inside. Beds are noisy and not very comfortable. Toilets are extremaly dirty and there was no toilet paper, when I asked someone at the reception about the toilet paper they told me it will be tomorrow maybe. There is a lot of people on a long stay here so they are... More

I'm writing this review in fervent gratitude that it's my last night of the week I booked here. I read the previous reviews thinking, "I'm not that fussy" - big mistake. In 20 years backpacking this is the single worst place I've ever stayed. Room: would've been adequate if it had been aired, cleaned, or vacuumed in the last YEAR.... More

2 of us spent two nights here, because there was really nothing else to find. At the outside the building looks good. The further you get in, the worse it gets! There was a line at check-up because the reception lady was having a smoke outside. On her return she was very desinterested and couldn't find the booking at first.... More

The sheets were clean, the place is well located but it was so noisy that after three nights we were more than happy to leave. We barely managed to sleep. The shower and toilets were ok for me, maybe a bit old (woman) but really dirty for my boyfriend.

If you don't have much time in Wellington, this is the best place to see rare impressive species (of mould), abstract art (the splatter stains), a heritage building (with crumbling walls and peeling carpets) and something less useful than the bucket fountain (the plumbing). If you didn't get to do much hiking in Wellington, don't worry because the lift doesn't... More
