initially we were surprised at how tiny the room was with a double bed fitting most of the available space no much room left. there was one metre clearance each side of the bed and about two metres in front. the bed was sprung and quite hard but it had a soft headboard which was good. only one chair and... I can only speak for the (front) "hotel" part; which under new management (?) has been chopped up into tiny little cupboards while still retaining higher motel prices. First night was a "double" with a view of a brick wall. The bed took up the entire room. Then was moved to an even smaller "single" with stairs and washroom right... More

Stay at the Inn part – avoid the hotel itself. The Inn is “interesting,” has lots of character; very nicely restored and still has that old-time feeling. Some of the units have “hot-tubs” or “Jacuzzis” in them – all good for those who are using them, but if you are in a room under an operating Jacuzzi, it sounds like... More

I had two nights in a single room which was minute, then moved to a double for two nights, which would have been a tight squeeze for two people. That said, there was everything you needed in a straightforward budget hotel in such a good location just at the end of Courtenay Place. All the staff were very helpful and friendly... More

We were disappointed in this hotel/lodge for the price we paid. We had one of the rooms inside the lodge which was very small and the walls were extremely thin. During the evening one of the upstairs rooms leaked water into the downstairs so the manager had to knock on the door of each upstairs room to figure out where... More

My family of four stayed in a two bedroom with kitchenette. It was basic, but suited our needs perfectly. Definitely better than a noisy hostel. Within walking distance of the Te Papa museum and loads of restaurants, theaters, and the waterfront. Also a nice New World supermarket very nearby. I appreciated the French press coffee each morning!

Glad to meet Mr Stephen, our friendly host, who briefed us on the local environ around the motel. The motel is just 20 min stroll to the Te Papa Museum and the many eateries and fun-filled venues along the Queen Wharf / Dock. Our girls were able to catch 'the battle of the 5 armies' movie at the Embassy Theatre... More

We stayed 3 nights in the lodge at the back of the complex. Our room was clean and beds comfortable. Had a great shower. It is in a great location metres away from Courtenay Place, there is a supermarket nearby and plenty of good restaurants a short stroll away. Te Papa/waterfront is about a 10min walk. My complaint about the... More

We arrived at this hotel to find that we had been allocated a single room rather than a double as booked. The hotel looked busy so we were a little worried they wouldn't be able to accommodate us but we left for the day to do some sightseeing and came back later and all had been sorted. The staff are... Wouldn't recommend to anyone. The second bedroom so small can only just walk between the single beds. Unit stunk was dirty and was in need of total renovation. Only good thing is close to city centre.
