Stayed one night at this hotel. The room was small but clean and warm. Everything worked and shower was clean and hot water. The location is walking distance to pubs, restuarants and cafes. Nice safe and friendly area. The host is a lovely lady who can't do enough for you. She recommended a cab that charged only $20 to airport... More

.. small can cope with but not grubby - old duvet rather musty and bobbly poly cover - window broken but glued together - furniture curling up at the edges - carpet too - awful - young lady receptionist very polite and even went as far as offering to set her own alarm at home and ring us to call... Third visit and by far the best. We took the option of a motel at $135 and it was worth it, lovely clean unit, good heater, great spa bath and shower. And cooking facilities- so hard to find in a motel in Wellington. Close to restaurants, bars and main city bus terminus.

I have visited Wellington many times and always avoided this place but it wasn't as bad as I'd been led to believe. Service is efficient and good humoured, we had endless fun listening to the gentleman on reception mispronouncing my name Ken as King. We stayed in the motel units and it was functional but small, with only a kitchenette... More

Stayed here for 7 days (Wellington Full) and as neither my wife nor I have the mobility we used to have, we found access to our room difficult. Apart from a very steep driveway, parking was limited (Not enough for the number of Units,) The Motel consists of a series of old houses, Villa's and standard Motel rooms. Our room... More

We stayed at Halswell over the ANZAC 100 Year Anniversary weekend. We were in a two bedroom unit with my 22 y.o. daughter & friend. We had a back-friendly qs bed, Sue in Reception is a gem, it was peaceful, and it is walking distance to almost everything. Its 50 metres from Courtenay Place, Wellington's answer to Melbourne's diverse Brunswick... More

Ok rooms a little on the small side, I was in a twin single room. But overall I would rate it 4 out of 5, front desk staff were all good, over the weekend we dealt with 4 different people. Handy location to get to city centre, stadium about 15 minute walk, bars restaurants only a couple of minutes away,... More

initially we were surprised at how tiny the room was with a double bed fitting most of the available space no much room left. there was one metre clearance each side of the bed and about two metres in front. the bed was sprung and quite hard but it had a soft headboard which was good. only one chair and... I can only speak for the (front) "hotel" part; which under new management (?) has been chopped up into tiny little cupboards while still retaining higher motel prices. First night was a "double" with a view of a brick wall. The bed took up the entire room. Then was moved to an even smaller "single" with stairs and washroom right... More

Stay at the Inn part – avoid the hotel itself. The Inn is “interesting,” has lots of character; very nicely restored and still has that old-time feeling. Some of the units have “hot-tubs” or “Jacuzzis” in them – all good for those who are using them, but if you are in a room under an operating Jacuzzi, it sounds like... More
