We arrived at this hotel to find that we had been allocated a single room rather than a double as booked. The hotel looked busy so we were a little worried they wouldn't be able to accommodate us but we left for the day to do some sightseeing and came back later and all had been sorted. The staff are... Wouldn't recommend to anyone. The second bedroom so small can only just walk between the single beds. Unit stunk was dirty and was in need of total renovation. Only good thing is close to city centre.

This was the second time i stayed here, i was shocked when i got here to realise I had booked in the lodge as i had never planned to stay here again. It was a fairly unsatisfactory one night stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location is very close to the main city centre... More

As part of a party of 5 we first stayed in the large old house at rear of property, then one night in front units as a couple. The old house has character but shambolic furnishings. It was clean and had a pleasant feel. The units were quite different and contemporary, again clean and well maintained, fairly modern decor and... More

I had a satisfactory one night stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location is very close to the main city centre area. There's parking out the back by their apartments and you can make arrangments to park along the driveway if the car park is full. The free wifi works well, it cut out... More

I recently had a great stay at Halswell lodge. I had to work in Wellington for the week and this hotel was very cost effective. The staff were friendly and hotel comfortable. The room was cleaned every day. There was parking for my car. There was very little noise from the upstairs unit, but being a motel this is to... More

I booked a room online, and had the email confirmed reservation. Got an email at 8.45 the night before we were to check in, cancelling the booking (which we didnt read until 7.30 the next morning). "Manager" rung at 8.00 the morning we were due to check in, saying that they had cancelled the booking because another guest wanted it.... More

Hi Damian. Your review seems a little unfair as you booked at short notice and we responded immediately informing you of the system error. We then found you accommodation very close by at the same price and comfort but you said that yourself and your "mate" were just going to "crash at a friends place" so we thought that was... More

Parking is TERRIBLE. Steep drive up to so called car parks, but none available when arrived and being in central wellington had to leave and hope someone left so we could get park later in day! Came back and luckily one free. Had to keep car parked there and walk/bus in case someone stole it. Im sure there are many... More

Hi Gwolfess. We are sorry to hear that you would not consider us again in future due to our parking. We stress to people that it is first in first serve and during busy times like now, alternative parking should be planned for. It is Wellington city so there is pay and display parking all over and also parking buildings,... More

We stayed here once before however it was the units at the back which are fine. This time we're were booked into the lodge. The room was so small that there was hardly any room to put yr bag down. The bed was tiny and was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever sleep in. The noise from outside was horrendous... More
